Henry David Thoreau
Henry David Thoreau (Concord, Massachusetts, 12 de julio de 1817) fue un escritor, poeta y filósofo estadounidense, de tendencia trascendentalista y origen puritano, autor de 'Walden' y 'La desobediencia civil'. Thoreau fue agrimensor, naturalista, conferenciante y fabricante de lápices. Uno de los padres fundadores de la literatura estadounidense, es también el conceptualizador de las prácticas de desobediencia civil, la no violencia y el ecologismo. Murió de tuberculosis en 1862 a la edad de 44 años.
