Edward Payson Roe
Edward Payson Roe (1838–1888) was an American novelist and Presbyterian minister. After serving as a chaplain in the Civil War, he was pastor of a church in Highland Falls, New York, and later devoted himself to writing and horticulture in Cornwall-on-Hudson. His novels include Barriers Burned Away, Opening a Chestnut Burr, and He Fell in Love with His Wife.
