Summary

We are all required to write something at some point in our lives. For some, writing is a great passion, while others do it only under duress. Even the same person will enjoy writing some assignments while subconsciously resenting others. The writing "game" will unfold differently, in each case, for all of us.

In this little parable, several people receive a mysterious email from an anonymous blogger, challenging them to play the "Gameful Writing" game. Each of them has been struggling with writer's block, or to deal with something in their lives, and this game just might hold the key to unlocking their potential.
Join Miriam, Will, Toni, Sofie, Torben, Lily, and Karina as they experience the healing and empowering nature of gameful writing.
And discover these forces for yourself.
Available since: 06/17/2020.

Your business plan: turn ten minutes of attention into investment.
'David's book is an invaluable resource for any entrepreneur seeking to raise funding. Based on years of experience, David shows how to keep things short and clear!' -- Thomas Hellmann, Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford
'Anyone interested in this subject should read this book,' -- Tim Hames, Director General of BVCA (British Venture Capital Association)
The Business Plan is an essential tool for attracting an investor’s attention. They receive hundreds of plans every week and spend no more than ten minutes on each one before deciding if it is of further interest. This means that the plan needs to be a short, snappy document that conveys the facts about your business quickly and clearly.
David Bateman's template has developed through years of successful deals and in just 15 slides, with just a few sentences on each, it provides everything an investor needs to know. No more long business plans full of text – this is a 'one-size-fits-all' solution avoids confusion and keeps it simple but successful.
Business Plans That Get Investment is a clear and comprehensive guide to writing a plan that turns those ten minutes of investor attention into major investment deals.

    Literary Executions - Capital...

“Rich with historical detail . . . examines the figure and theme of the death penalty in imaginative literature from Cooper to Dreiser.” —Gregg Crane, Professor of English Language and Literature, University of Michigan

Drawing from legal and extralegal discourse but focusing on imaginative literature, Literary Executions examines representations of, responses to, and arguments for and against the death penalty in the United States over the long nineteenth century. John Cyril Barton creates a generative dialogue between artistic relics and legal history. He looks to novels, short stories, poems, and creative nonfiction as well as legislative reports, trial transcripts, legal documents, newspaper and journal articles, treatises, and popular books (like The Record of Crimes, A Defence of Capital Punishment, and The Gallows, the Prison, and the Poor House), all of which were part of the debate over the death penalty.

Barton focuses on several canonical figures—James Fenimore Cooper, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Lydia Maria Child, Walt Whitman, Herman Melville, and Theodore Dreiser—and offers new readings of their work in light of the death penalty controversy. Barton also gives close attention to a host of then-popular-but-now-forgotten writers—particularly John Neal, Slidell MacKenzie, William Gilmore Simms, Sylvester Judd, and George Lippard—whose work helped shape or was shaped by the influential anti-gallows movement.

By engaging the politics and poetics of capital punishment, Literary Executions contends that the movement to abolish the death penalty in the United States should be seen as an important part of the context that brought about the flowering of the American Renaissance during the antebellum period and that influenced literature later in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries
