Summary

Utter, utter madness is at the root of this very exciting and totally out of the ordinary tale of a British aristocrat, super hero and gentleman called, Erskine Quint, Esquire or Sir (not yet). His ultimate quest is to expose the truth behind humankind's existence hidden in the real 'Holy Grail'!
Erskine manoeuvres between time zones leaving the reader guessing and imagining from what era and which historical period he actually exists in, to no avail. The reader remains in a timeless zone, bouncing backwards and forwards between historical events in an outrageous 'Pythonist bubble' filled with insane adventures.
The main character, Erskine Quint, was born with blood running through his veins that gives him extra-dimensional strength, intelligence, guile and the most powerful will to defeat all obstacles in his way whilst solving and discovering the final frontier that has driven the human race ever since they found themselves walking on 2 legs.
Nothing will stop him reaching this goal although evil is constantly attempting to thwart him all the way through the novel. He is determined to defeat it and expose what no man or woman man has ever attempted or succeeded to do before. The novel contains surreal adventures, surreal characters, nasty elements, truths, fantastic journeys, excitement and total madness forms the backbone of the story.
Good and evil accompany us through our lives, hand in hand, and this outrageous novel, although completely insane, offers the reader a twist at the finale that only those of a strong disposition and open-mind can possibly take, enjoy, or comprehend.
Erskine loves gorgeous, erotic, very sexy women. He is an insatiable 'mercurial stud' and has several erotic adventures along his majestic journey; the novel is not advisable for children to read. The author intends to take the reader to the limits of their fantasy and allows himself the right to introduce even more insanity when required, but the insanity mostly relates and always entertains so that the story is never far away.
Periodically leaving the backbone of the novel and catapulting into tangents faraway, but paradoxically, remaining oh so close. Insane, black holes waiting to confuse, entertain and amuse.
Erskine, although being an Aristocrat and enjoying the most luxurious, upper class things the planet has to offer always remains aware of the importance of his mission to mankind in general, therefore the reader can always relate to him, or maybe even get to like him.
They will also enjoy his memorable, sometimes deadly confrontations and conflicts with evil, which snowball rapidly during the journeys he undertakes. Several dark, sad, funny, sexy, oddball characters join Erskine, but the greatest surprise is towards the end where two colossal, universal characters join the adventure physically and eventually determine Erskine's destiny.
This surreal novel is for the open-minded, slightly eccentric, (or very mad), intellectual, adult reader. It offers no boundaries, solutions, or answers, but will certainly entertain, maybe provoke and possibly, the reader will never be the same again after reading it.
Erskine Quint is a survivor, but his ultimate confrontation with powers that can destroy or redeem anything on the planet is something that no other being has ever survived and if he does survive the ordeal, a trilogy is in the pipeline.

The comedian, actor, television host, podcast king, and New York Times bestselling author of President Me, Not Taco Bell Material, and In Fifty Years We’ll All Be Chicks now lays down the law on the plight of the modern parent.
Parents, do you often think that if your kids had to grow up the way you did—without iPads, 70-inch flatscreen TVs, American Girl dolls, and wifi in the climate controlled minivan—that they might actually be better off? Do you feel underappreciated or ignored? Do you worry you’re raising a bunch of spoiled softies who will never know how to do anything themselves—because you do everything for them? If you answered yes to any of these questions, you need Daddy, Stop Talking.
Adam rips parenthood a new one, telling it straight about what adults must do if they don’t want to have to support their kids forever. Using his own crappy childhood as a cautionary tale, and touting the pitfalls of the kind of helicopter parenting so pervasive today, Daddy, Stop Talking is the only parenting book you should ever read. Here, too, is sage advice to Adam’s own kids—and to future parents—on what matters most: dating; drinking and drugs; buying your first house and car; puberty; and what kind of assholes his kids (and yours) should avoid becoming. Even if his own son and daughter pretty much ignore everything he says, you shouldn’t. And you’re welcome. Again.

"New York, Paris, London—every grand metropolis—has its own irresistible attraction but Rome so swirls with stories of saints and sinners…lovers and fighters, that she compels you towards her, like gravity…. No one leaves her unaltered. Part of you always loves her. This is the place where passions are aroused, senses inflamed, and lovers fall into each other's arms. It all appears to unfold like magic but I will tell you what really happens…Come with me, if you will, and observe my labors." Mark Lamprell's One Summer Day in Rome is an enchanting audiobook about three couples drawn irresistibly to Rome, narrated by the city itself.
Alice, an art student in New York City, has come to Rome in search of adventure and inspiration before settling down with her steady, safe fiancé. Meg and Alec, busy parents and successful business people from LA, are on a mission to find the holy grail, a certain blue tile that will make their home renovation complete—but soon it becomes clear that their marriage needs a makeover as well. Connie and Lizzie are women of a certain age—"Sometimes I look at my laughter lines and wonder what on earth could have been that funny"—who come from London to scatter the ashes of their beloved husband and brother. Both women are seemingly done with romance, but Rome has other ideas.
Brimming with wit and charm (and gelato), One Summer Day in Rome is the most delicious audiobook you will listen to this summer.

Sink or Swim - Catholicism in...

The Sixties was an iconic decade, conjuring images of marked generational conflict and “sex, drugs and rock-n-roll”, but also of the Second Vatican Council (1962–5), the “permissive” legislation and Britain’s counter-culture, as well as the social transformations of the period encompassing ecumenism, the advent of the women’s movement and the beginning of the Troubles.

Better known as the creator of the BBC television series Captain Pugwash, John Ryan (1921–2009), through his weekly illustrations in the Catholic Herald, offered a topical interrogation of the British Catholic Church’s sometimes adaptive, though often inflexible responses to the changes and challenges of the period. This collection of Ryan’s cartoons provides a personal portrait of the extraordinary ups and downs of religion in the Sixties—encompassing the machinations of popes and cardinals, the testimony of expert witnesses, runaway priests, radical reformists and lay protest movements.
