Summary

Callista Hawkins had sacrificed everything to become one of the top veterinary specialists in the country. Instead of enjoying her successes, she resigned herself to live the rest of her life married to her career.
Fate, on the other hand, had a different plan and called her home to Ouray, Colorado, and the man she thought she had lost forever.
Zachary Nelson had moved to Ouray to escape the nightmares of his past and find peace for his tortured soul. An unexpected friendship had blossomed into a promise of something more, but he allowed self-doubt and insecurities to get in the way of a happily ever after.
A twist of Fate brings them face-to-face at last. All doubts fade away as they pick up where they left off, only to have their world be turned upside down by forces out of their control.
Fire crews from all over the country scramble to contain the six massive wildfires converging south of Ouray near Durango. Each passing day brings news of more devastation and destruction, forcing the towns to mobilize and find shelter further north for themselves and the wildlife sanctuary.
Once separated by the ghosts of their pasts, they reach out to each other again. In the middle of the chaos surrounding the evacuations, Callista and Zachary rekindle the spark between them. Will these battered and bruised souls be strong enough to fight for their second chance at love, or will their future be lost to the wildfires barreling down on the enchanted town they call home?
