Summary

McCormick's Creek State Park is the first state park established in Indiana in 1916,  one hundred years after Indiana received Statehood. In that year the first area resident, John McCormick, homesteaded 100 acres on the site. The park includes almost two thousand acres of forest, campground, trails and fun. McCormick's Creek flows through a rugged limestone canyon, cascading over waterfalls and rapids. It flows into the nearby White River that borders the park on the west. Guests may stay in Canyon Inn, one of the seven family cabins or in the campground. Park visitors will enjoy camping, hiking and fishing at McCormick's Creek State Park.
Using A Visit to McCormick's State Park Visitors will learn everything they need to enjoy their visit to family friendly McCormick's Creek State Park and the surrounding area.

Approximately one year after Trump was inaugurated and it feels like 10. The horror we felt at Donald J. Trump being elected is like a sunny walk in the park compared to him actually being president. The incompetent staff, the complicit adult-children, the gang of destroyers masquerading as cabinet secretaries. To quote his own economic adviser, Gary Cohn, "Trump is less a person then a collection of terrible traits, none of which is suited to being president."

These poems are our attempt to cope with it, cheaper than psychiatry, healthier than heavy drinking (We’ve cut back to moderate drinking). We do hope these poems bring you some much needed laughter. Please enjoy Trump Rhymes 2: Worse Than We Knew!

Parents were here first! How did the kids suddenly take control? Sure the world has changed from the days when children were supposed to be seen and not heard but things have gotten a little out of hand. What about some quality time for the grownups? Author Christie Mellor’s hilarious, personal, refreshing, and actually quite useful advice delightfully rights the balance between parent and child. In dozens of short, wickedly funny chapters, she skewers today’s parental absurdities and reminds us how to make child-rearing a kick. With recipes, helpful hints, and illustrations, this high-spirited book is the only book parents will really need—and enjoy.

“Harried mothers who have given over their lives to their adorable little angels, beware: This book is the equivalent of a cocktail in the face . . . The book details the glories of saying no to your children, explains when you’ve gone too far in childproofing your home, laments our over-reliance on camcorders (‘a disease’) and suggests that the Tooth Fairy is getting robbed. Best of all, there’s a recipe for teaching your tot how to mix a simple martini just the way you like it—with lots of alcohol.” —Chicago Sun-Times

America’s favorite comic strip heroine navigates the perils of being a modern woman in this hilarious collection.

By now, we’re all familiar with Cathy’s battles among the four basic guilt groups: food, Mom, love, and career. Women can identify with Cathy Guisewite’s hilarious portrayal of the universal struggles of modern femininity. A confirmed chocoholic, Cathy often consoles herself with one more trip to the fridge, then pays for it with frightening excursions in department store dressing rooms. Mom pushes Cathy to find the man who will give her grandchildren. As for her career, Cathy struggles to be a superstar, even though her desk looks like a disaster area.

In fact, Cathy’s all-too-recognizable life is what endears her to devoted readers. Her countless fans look on their cartoon heroine as a best friend, someone who really knows the trials and tribulations of the working single woman. From Internet dating to Christmas catalog fiascoes, from winter-flu one-upmanship at the office to kitchen technique discussions with Mom, Cathy puts her finger on the kinds of situations that women face in their real lives on a daily basis. In this Cathy collection, I’d Scream Except I Look So Fabulous, our favorite cartoon character once again shows why her popularity soars. Who can’t relate to the discomfort fashion sometimes dictates in order to be trendy.

In War Dogs, Rebecca Frankel offers a riveting mix of on-the-ground reporting, her own hands-on experiences in the military working dog world, and a look at the science of dogs' special abilities-from their amazing noses and powerful jaws to their enormous sensitivity to the emotions of their human companions. The history of dogs in the U.S. military is long and rich, from the spirit-lifting mascots of the Civil War to the dogs who lead patrols hunting for IEDs today. Frankel interviewed not only handlers who deployed with dogs in wars from Vietnam to Iraq but also top military commanders, K-9 program managers, combat-trained therapists who brought dogs into war zones as part of a preemptive measure to stave off PTSD, and veterinary technicians stationed in Bagram. She makes a passionate case for maintaining a robust war-dog force. In a post-9/11 world rife with terrorist threats, nothing is more effective than a bomb-sniffing dog and his handler. With a compelling cast of humans and animals, this moving book is a must-listen for all dog lovers-military and otherwise.
