Summary

WetWork, Dark Man Case Files, Episode 1 is a gritty, action-packed romantic serial (25k). Filled with pulsing passion and heart pounding intrigue, it is the first episode in this hot, new series by author, Cadence Denton. Each installment ends in a cliffhanger.

Someone is killing Department hunters one-by-one. Dark Man, the Department’s best hitman, is determined to find the assassin and take him out.

The Archangel is known throughout the globe for her body count. Now her employers, the Chernyy Group, Russia’s super-secret counter intelligence agency, have aimed her at its rival, the Department…and DM.

When DM captures the illusive Angel, sparks fly and passions explode.
When she asks his name, he replies, “I’m your future.”
But is he her future lover or executioner?

He has questions. She has the answers. He knows what he should do, but why not do what he wants—seduce her and get the answers that way?

So what makes this series special?
The characters. It’s Jason Bourne meets Michael Corleone who then falls for the Black Widow. The characters are larger than life. They are in charge from page one to the end. This series is a nonstop thrill ride down a mountain peak with some pretty intense love scenes to add extra spice.
Book One is Free, so why read the rest of the series?
If you enjoy fast paced, espionage enemies-to-lovers thrillers, WetWork could be a good fit. There’s non-stop action and a storyline that raises even more questions as it answers them. But don’t take my word on it—here’s what some of my readers say:
I LOVED this series! It has kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end.
This was the exclamation point of the series. Not to give anything away, I loved how Angel and DM’s story ended.
Sensual and provocative, this first Episode of WetWork clearly and cleverly sets the stage for the rest of the story. It’s fast paced and draws you into this world of assassins, and you quickly learn the hunter can turn into the hunted at the snap of a finger.
I see each installment ends in a cliff hanger. Why?
WetWork was a grand experiment. I happen to enjoy serials—both in written form and on screen. Some of my most favorite characters are a part of ongoing series (Red in the Blacklist or Jon Snow in the Game of Thrones) where each “episode” ends in a cliff hanger. Think about it, every episode of your favorite television drama usually ends in a cliff hanger. The TV bigwigs do it for a reason—it keeps us watching! Cliff hangers serve two purposes: they keep readers interested AND excited about the story and its characters. I’ve attempted to do this with WetWork.
How should I read the series?
WetWork was written to be read in order. Episode 1 through Episode 4.
Will there be another cycle in the WetWork series?
The door was definitely left open for another round of WetWork books. I love this world and its unique and quirky characters so you can look for a different character’s case files in the not so distant future.
