Summary

Learn how it all began … before Rae Kerrigan.
The sins of the father are the sins of the son.
What did Rae’s father do that put fear in people’s eyes at the name Kerrigan?
Simon Kerrigan is standing at a crossroads. Torn between two paths.
The life of a Privy Council spy—complete with friends, white picket fences, and an undisclosed relationship with the girl he loves. Or another life. A life in untested waters, pushing the boundaries to see what lies beyond—no matter the cost.
While playing the role of a dutiful boyfriend and crazy-talented spy, Simon finds himself sinking ever deeper into the darkest part of his consciousness. What happens if you mix different kinds of tatùs? Why was it so wrong? What if he left the PCs? Who would stand by him? Who would join him in the inevitable fight? Could it be possible that such a little device could bring an entire county to its knees?
More importantly, who is this mysterious C?
In a twisted quest for knowledge and a growing obsession with the ‘ultimate power,’ he crosses one line after another. Until finally, he crosses so many, he has to ask himself the question…
…Can he ever go back?

17 year old Ceres, a beautiful, poor girl in the Empire city of Delos, lives the harsh and unforgiving life of a commoner. By day she delivers her father’s forged weapons to the palace training grounds, and by night she secretly trains with them, yearning to be a warrior in a land where girls are forbidden to fight. With her pending sale to slavehood, she is desperate.

18 year old Prince Thanos despises everything his royal family stands for. He abhors their harsh treatment of the masses, especially the brutal competition—The Killings—that lies at the heart of the city. He yearns to break free from the restraints of his upbringing, yet he, a fine warrior, sees no way out.

When Ceres stuns the court with her hidden powers, she finds herself wrongfully imprisoned, doomed to an even worse life than she could imagine. Thanos, smitten, must choose if he will risk it all for her. Yet, thrust into a world of duplicity and deadly secrets, Ceres quickly learns there are those who rule, and those who are their pawns. And that sometimes, being chosen is the worst that can happen.

SLAVE, WARRIOR, QUEEN tells an epic tale of tragic love, vengeance, betrayal, ambition, and destiny. Filled with unforgettable characters and heart-pounding action, it transports us into a world we will never forget, and makes us fall in love with fantasy all over again.

'Tony And The Beetles' is a short story about racism on a colony world. Philip Kindred Dick was born on December 16 1928, in Chicago, Illinois. Dick and his family moved to the Bay Area of San Francisco when he was young, and later on to Washington DC following his parents divorce. It was around this time that Dick began to take an active interest in the science fiction genre, reading his first magazine ‘Stirring Science Stories’, at age twelve. Dick married five times between 1959 and 1973, and had three children. He sold his first story in 1951 and from that point on he wrote full-time, selling his first novel in 1955. In addition to 44 published novels, Dick wrote an estimated 121 short stories, most of which appeared in science fiction magazines during his lifetime.
