Summary

“UNTO ME”

The Religious Quality of Social
Work

When Jesus
looked forward to the great climax of History, the Last Judgment, he saw it as
a process by which the inner significance of their own actions and relations
would be revealed to men. Those men on his right hand whom he welcomed to their
reward had never realized the high quality of their own actions. Here was a man
who had seen a work-mate in the heat of the harvest-time eating a crust, and he
had shared the contents of his dinner-pail with him and gone on half-rations
himself. Here was another who had seen a foot-sore and dusty stranger limping
into the village at dusk, and had taken him home, helped him clean up, and
turned over his bed to him while he slept on the earthen floor. That one yonder
had restored the self-respect of a poor neighbor by setting him up in a new
suit of clothes. This one had visited a poor debtor pining in prison and
brought him food and human comfort in his hopelessness. They all thought they
had done it for folks, for dusty, sweaty, tired, discouraged individuals. But
Jesus says: “Oh, no, ye did it unto me. My life is so identified with my
brethren that when ye fed and clothed them, ye fed and clothed me. God is
living in these worn human bodies. When ye comforted them, ye comforted God.”

    Liberalism Is a Mental Disorder-
    Michael Savage has the cure.
With grit, guts, and gusto, talk radio sensation Michael Savage leaves no political turn unstoned as he savages today's most rabid liberalism. In this paperback edition of his third New York Times bestseller, Savage strikes at the root of today's most pressing issues, including:
Homeland security: "We need more Patton and less patent leather . . . Real homeland security begins when we arrest, interrogate, jail, or deport known operatives within our own borders . . . One dirty bomb can ruin your whole day."
Illegal immigration: "I envision an Oil for Illegals program . . . The president should demand one barrel of oil from Mexico for every illegal that sneaks into our country."
Lawsuit abuse: "Lawyers are like red wine. Everything in moderation. Today we have far too many lawyers, and we're suffering from cirrhosis of the economy."
"Pure Savage. Very effective, very timely, very hot." American Compass Book Club

In the past decade, right-wing efforts to end legal abortion in the United States have reached a fever pitch, with anti-abortion legislation being introduced in several "red"—and even some "purple"—states. This war on abortion has had a chilling effect on women's reproductive health, making abortion accessible in name only in multiple parts of the country due to a lack of clinics, high cost, extensive waiting periods, and other issues. And if Roe v. Wade is overturned, which is now quite possible with a conservative Supreme Court, half of the states in the US will likely make abortion completely illegal within their borders. The End of Roe v. Wade examines the systematic destruction of legal abortion on a state by state basis, as well as detailing the Trump administration's unprecedented efforts to end access to abortion and contraception on a federal level. This timely and urgent book also offers a harrowing glimpse into what a post-Roe America will look like, previewing the next major battle over abortion rights-pitting those who chose to end their pregnancies outside of the legal medical system against those who will prosecute them.

A former GOP political consultant exposes the corruption, greed, and dirty tricks that control our country in this tell-all memoir.   Leslie Sorrell started a successful and influential political consulting firm in Texas, working with many of the state’s Republican congressman. Her goal was to save the country by helping good people get into office and stay there. But over time she discovered the true character of these supposedly good people. Those experiences introduced Leslie to the real world of politics—the side media fails to cover.   Challenging a congressman in a primary election violates the political insider code, but Leslie did it anyway. She decided to work for congressional hopeful Grant Stinchfield, pitting herself against her own former client, Republican congressman Kenny Marchant—a man she had learned not to trust. Before the campaign was over, Leslie found herself stripped of every political ideal she ever had. And while she lost the race, she knows the real losers in American politics are the American people. But the first step toward taking our country back is exposing the truth.

"I owe it to many people, and to myself, to set the record straight. There have been many versions of parts of the story in the press over the years, many lies overlaid with truths and truths overlaid with lies. Much of the truth is just a palimpsest, an echo that changes even in the act of repeating it, but this is my story."
In the dying years of apartheid, a most extraordinary story hit the headlines. Agent Olivia Forsyth had escaped from ANC imprisonment in Angola. Upon her return home she was feted as a hero by the government. In a flurry of media appearances and press releases, Forsyth claimed to have infiltrated the ANC and passed on vital information.
Is that what really happened? In the world of espionage, truth is the first victim and nothing is as it seems. Here, for the first time and in her own words, South Africa's most notorious female spy during apartheid lays bare the story of her life.
Olivia Forsyth was also known as agent RS407, codename Lara, lieutenant in the Security Branch of the South Africa Police, ANC comrade Helen Bronson, prisoner Thandeka, alias Christine Smith.
