Summary

After suffering a devastating loss, artist Sandra Lyall runs south to Mexico seeking solace from her grief. She finds refuge in a small Baja hotel on the edge of the sea to which she returns each winter to continue the healing of her heart. But this year’s stay would be different. When a scruffy Englishman with a posh accent offers to buy the painting she’s working on, everything changes, and Sandra finds herself torn between her hard-won serenity and her draw to a compelling but risky alternative.
Mark Jeffery’s film career is in decline, his ex-wife’s behaviour has landed him in the tabloids, and he’s got nothing better to do than hang out in Mexico waiting for the phone to ring. When he meets a woman painting a seascape on the roof of his friend’s hotel, he discovers a “not terribly exciting but predictable and rather refreshing” distraction from his troubled life. As Mark spends more time with her, he finds himself inexplicably drawn to this ordinary woman.
With the magical waters of the Sea of Cortez as its backdrop, House of the Blue Sea tells a tale of surviving loss, seeing the extraordinary, and finding happiness in unexpected places.

Together they may create a scandal worthy of the stage, but can their love last after the final curtain falls…?
Successful playwright Maggie Delamere has no interest in the flirtations of noblemen like Cameron, Viscount Marwood. She once paid dearly for a moment of weakness…and vows to rebuff the wildly persistent—and irritatingly handsome—scoundrel at every turn. But when pressure to deliver a new play hampers her creativity, an invitation to use his country estate as a writer’s retreat is too tempting to resist....
For years, Cam has admired Maggie’s brilliant work and he can’t pass up the opportunity to discover if the beautiful, mysterious playwright is as passionate and clever as the words that flow from her quill. He’s never offered a lady his bed without being in it, but if it means loosening Maggie’s pen—and her inhibitions—he’ll do exactly that.
But soon Cam’s plans for seduction become a fight for Maggie’s heart. He’s more than the scandalous, carefree rake society believes him to be…and she’s the only woman who has ever noticed.

“Mad about the Duke is a rollicking good romp, filled with mischief and mayhem and delicious characters.”—Sabrina JeffriesRita Award-winner, USA Today and New York Times bestseller Elizabeth Boyle delights once more with Mad About the Duke, the second book in her wonderfully creative, wickedly fun Widows of Standon historical romance series. It is a delectable tale of an intrepid young woman who employs an incognito duke—whom she mistakenly believes to be a common solicitor—in her quest to land a titled second husband. Featuring characters from her popular Bachelor Chronicles, Boyle proves once again to be one of today’s most imaginative writers of romantic fiction. Fans of the sensual, fast-paced historical romance of Lisa Kleypas and Christina Dodd will, likewise, be Mad About the Duke.
