Summary

Have you noticed that some people in infosec simply have more success than others, however they may define success? Some people are simply more listened too, more prominent, make more of a difference, have more flexibility with work, more freedom, choices of the best projects, and yes, make more money. They are not just lucky. They make their luck. The most successful are not necessarily the most technical, although technical or "geek" skills are essential. They are an absolute must, and we naturally build technical skills through experience. They are essential, but not for Rock Star level success. The most successful, the Infosec Rock Stars, have a slew of other equally valuable skills, ones most people never develop nor even understand. They include skills such as self direction, communication, business understanding, leadership, time management, project management, influence, negotiation, results orientation, and lots more . . . Infosec Rock Star will start you on your journey of mastering these skills and the journey of moving toward Rock Star status and all its benefits. Maybe you think you can’t be a Rock Star, but everyone can MOVE towards it and reap the benefits of vastly increased success. Remember, “Geek” will only get you so far . . .

There is nothing wrong with this but you must immediately understand that living on an income thanks to passive income, being free financially, means only that you can afford not to be always productive and no longer have to depend on a professional income.
It therefore means having total control over your finances and your time.
It means doing what you want often when you want, it means having a lot of free time… but it doesn't mean not doing anything anymore.
Personally, it is for these latter reasons that I began to explore the economic and financial world many years ago when I learned that the key to living on an income lay in the concept of passive income.
Then it took me 7 years of great commitment and many attempts to learn how the "system" worked, and then to acquire mastery of it, up to having full control.
It may not be a definitive status because some opportunities capable of generating passive income may be limited in time and therefore it is necessary to be aware that it may be necessary to update one's sources of passive income even when certain results have been achieved.
Therefore, those who think they can constantly stay sitting in the sun from morning to evening just because they have understood how to generate passive income, can safely stop reading ... because they are deluded or because someone has told them that this is so!
So, let's start talking about how to make more money by not working, than how much you can make by working.

When fourteen-year-old Hannah Salwen saw a homeless man at the same instant she spotted a man driving a glistening Mercedes, she said, "Dad, if that man had a less nice car, that man there could have a meal." Acting on her urge to do something, Hannah's family made the extraordinary decision to sell their Atlanta mansion, buy a house half its size, and give half of the sale price to a worthy charity. Their plan eventually took them across the globe and well out of their comfort zone. In the end they learned that they had the power to change a little corner of the world. Warm, funny, and deeply moving, The Power of Half is the story of how one family grew closer as they discovered that half could be so much more.

An inspirational and practical guide to leadership from the New York Times–bestselling author of The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.   Covey, named one of Time magazine’s 25 Most Influential Americans, is a renowned authority on leadership, whose insightful advice has helped millions. In his follow-up to The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, he poses these fundamental questions:   How do we as individuals and organizations survive and thrive amid tremendous change? Why are efforts to improve falling so short in real results? How do we unleash the creativity, talent, and energy within ourselves and others? Is it realistic to believe that balance among personal and professional life is possible?   The key to dealing with the challenges that we face is to identify a principle-centered core within ourselves and our institutions. In Principle-Centered Leadership, Covey outlines a long-term, inside-out approach to developing people and organizations.   Offering insights and guidelines on how to apply these principles both at work and at home, Covey posits that these steps will lead not only to an increase in productivity and quality of work, but also to a new appreciation of personal and professional relationships as we strive to enjoy a more balanced, rewarding, and ultimately more effective life.   “There seems to be no limit to the number of writers offering answers to the great perplexities of life. Covey, however, is the North Star in this field . . . without hesitation, strongly recommended.” —Library Journal
