Growing up, Wat Misaka wasn’t the tallest kid on the basketball court, but he was fast and he loved the game! In his Japanese American basketball league, Wat dribbled with speed and shared the ball as much as he scored. Encouraged by his father to always do his best, Wat applied this mindset to every challenge in his life.

As Wat spent more time on the court, his passion for the game grew. He played in college at the University of Utah during WWII, a time when many Japanese Americans were stripped of their freedoms and incarcerated by the US government. Wat fought against racism and brought his best to every game. His team-player mentality made him shine on and off the court, and he became an inspiration to his Japanese American community. After helping his team win the national championship, Wat was drafted by the New York Knicks, making him the first non-white athlete to play in the NBA.

Wat’s motivational story of rising to a challenge and bringing your best to everything you do is a reminder of the power we each have to inspire others—if we just take our shot!

Bombo is the first in a series about two eighth graders who rescue dogs and sometimes their owners. Robin Kould and Mary Yen become two unlikely comrades as they navigate the turbulent waters of their middle school years. Sometimes insightful, sometimes humorous, but always earnest, these two bungle their way through to accomplish their good deeds.Robin Kould has spent the first thirteen years of his life moving from one derelict place to another with his alcoholic mother and whatever boyfriend she takes up with. He has survived by scrounging whatever food he can find, not being noticed so as to avoid the swinging fists of whomever his mom is living with, and, when all else fails, disappearing to a place inside himself. His mother has recently died, and he finds himself living with his bachelor uncle where, for the first time he can remember, he has plenty to eat, has a room of his own, and has gotten into trouble.

    YOUNG BLACKBEARD THE PIRATE
    PORT OF BRISTOL 1690
Book 2 of 6 – The treasure in the sandbox
In 1690 Bristol, young pirate captain Edward Teach and his crew—Israel, Benjamin, Charles, and Anne—dig for Captain Thorne’s fabled treasure in the lighthouse sandbox. Despite Anne’s dramatic false alarms, they unearth a tiny chest containing brass buttons, a broken compass, ancient shortbread, and a cryptic note reading “Remember.” Old lighthouse keeper Pye reveals the chest was his grandson’s toy—but hints some items may be genuine artifacts. Though disappointed at first, Edward realizes the true treasure is the thrill of the hunt and proof of Thorne’s legend. The crew bonds over their discoveries, with Charles quietly noting the value of stories over gold. As twilight falls, they dream of future adventures, their spirits undampened by the modest haul. The tale blends humor and heart, showing how childhood imagination transforms ordinary finds into extraordinary treasures.
This is the second of six audiobooks in the series and I do hope you enjoy this second instalment, and it's only $3, all subsequent will remain at that price.
I have worked very hard and meticulously to provide you with an enjoyable experience, the initial opening credit music which does run to approximately 2 minutes sets the scene, so to speak, accordion, fiddle, harmonica and bango in a classical sea shanty jig. The closing music ends the tale on a similar jig and at about 2 minutes with the same musical instruments but more upbeat looking forward to the next episode.
The story itself runs to about 13 minutes is is narrated in my own voice.
I do hope you and your family, if applicable, enjoy this audiobook and let me know what you think, there are a lot more to come!
