Through the Keyhole - A collection of short stories
Publisher: Ron Shears
Through the Keyhole is a collection of short stories; some fictional, some based on truth and many having been adapted from completed manuscripts or screenplays that the author Ron Shears has written. Follow the adventures of soldiers at war, opium runners in Moscow and explorers in Dartmoor Bogs. Discover how an expert gardener comes up with an ingenious plan to deal with his insufferable wife, how a Ming vase came to be discovered in a suburban garden and how a postman experiences a ghostly house on his rounds.
This collection of stories were inspired by many things including photographs, written notes and an interest in military aircraft. 'The discovery of simple things can trigger one’s imagination into overdrive', says the author, who found inspiration in the great raconteur Sir Peter Ustinov who said, ‘Do not leave an open door for your reader. Rather, make them squint through the keyhole'. Thus, Ron named the collection 'Through the Keyhole' and endevaoured to offer an interesting mix of genres and topics to suit all tastes.
