Summary

Our problems are too big; start-ups, R&D, and innovation are too slow. Hence intrapreneurship. More output-focussed, quicker and clearer (try defining innovation). With a long-term cultural impact. Using all the existing resources that companies have at their disposal. When you start to talk about intrapreneurship, you immediately get sucked into a question of definition. Is it entrepreneurship, innovation, strategy or transformation? The answer is that it is all the above. Because intrapreneurship is a collective mindset. Intrapreneurship, innovation, strategy and transformation are interlinked holistic concepts and should be part of the change muscles of your company. Intrapreneurship is the quickest way to reinvention and innovation. Applying intrapreneurship to your organisation should be transformational. And intrapreneurship needs to be part of strategy. Strategic design is about setting the organisation’s future direction and goals. It involves two significant creative steps: re-perceiving the future business environment and re-conceiving the organisation’s role within these different futures. Scenario planning at its core. It is the foundation of corporate entrepreneurship and innovation. And it is a business muscle that needs flexing constantly.  What matters is that you make innovation, intrapreneurship, transformation and scenario planning a fundamental part of your business muscle.

    Underwater - How Our American...

A cautionary tale of Wall Street's push to turn homes into assets, Underwater is a powerful, incisive story that chronicles the crash and its aftermath from a fresh perspective—the forgotten, middle-class homeowner.
His assignment was to write about a real-estate frenzy lighting up the Redneck Riviera. So Ryan Dezember settled in and bought a home nearby himself. Then the market crashed, and he became one of the millions of Americans who suddenly owed more on their homes than they were worth. A flood of foreclosures made it impossible to sell. It didn't help that his quaint neighborhood fell into disrepair and drug-induced despair. He had no choice but to become a reluctant and wildly unprofitable landlord to move on. Meanwhile, his reporting showed how the speculative mania that caused the crash opened the U.S. housing market to a much larger breed of investors.
In this deeply personal story, Dezember shows how decisions on Wall Street and in Washington played out on his street in a corner of the Sunbelt that was convulsed by the foreclosure crisis. Listeners will witness the housing market collapse from Dezember's perch as a newspaper reporter. First he's in the boom-to-bust South where a hot-air balloonist named Bob Shallow becomes one of the world's top selling real-estate agents arranging condo flips, developers flop in spectacular fashion and the law catches up with a beach-town mayor on the take. Later he's in New York, among financiers like Blackstone's Stephen Schwarzman who are building rental empires out of foreclosures, staking claim to the bastion of middle-class wealth: the single-family home. Through it all, Dezember is an underwater homeowner caught up in the mess.

The buzzy term in the self-publishing space right now is, "wide." I was doing this before it was a thing. As more authors hear about the benefits of self-publishing on multiple platforms, I find myself on the receiving end of many panicked emails. While the concept is easy to understand the execution requires planning and patience.
For those who want to get their book out to as many readers and retailers as possible, I have the tools you need to create than plan. I've condensed my years of experience and best advice into this short and actionable book to help you go from Amazon-Only to Wide Author.
