Summary

Silent letters make spelling much too difficult and the students in Mr. Wright's class have had enough of them.  When the letters find out that the class is sending a letter to the newspaper editor asking for silent letters to be banned, they slip out of the missive and chaos ensues. The personality of each letter is distinctively portrayed, giving this grammar lesson the energy and humor to make it as much fun as the previous two books (Punctuation Takes a Vacation and Nouns and Verbs Have a Field Day).
