Jason Byrne is 17. He has his Leaving Cert under his belt but no idea what to do next. Who better to ask for advice than his dad, Paddy Byrne?
There's a (very) short stint studying accountancy (he was asked to leave); a FÁS course with juvenile prisoners to become a waiter (his wonky eye was not an advantage); and a job in a lighting warehouse (it ended with a collapsed lung). But no matter the problem, Paddy is always there with a whiskey, a smoke and a wise word: 'Sure, that's life, son. Just don't tell your mother.'
Follow Jason's hilarious journey to becoming one of Ireland's best-loved comedians in a laugh-out loud book that is a celebration of a generation, of life and of Jason's wonderful relationship with his dad, Paddy Byrne – the man who never gave a b*llix.

Alan Mathison Turing was a mathematician, computer system researcher, scholar, cryptanalyst, thinker, and theoretical biologist from the U.K. With the Turing device, which can be considered a design of a general-purpose computer system, Turing had a substantial influence on the development of theoretical computer technology, offering a formalization of the ideas of algorithm and calculation. Turing is considered the creator of theoretical computer technology and AI.
Turing was born in Maida Vale, London, and raised in the south of England. He earned a mathematics degree from King's College, Cambridge. He released a presentation suggesting that some simple math-- no questions can never ever be replied by computer system while a fellow at Cambridge, built a Turing device, and went on to reason that the Turing device's stopping issue is undecidable.
He got his PhD from Princeton University's Department of Mathematics in 1938. Turing worked for the Federal government Code and Cypher School (GC&CS) at Bletchley Park, Britain's codebreaking center where Ultra intelligence was developed, throughout WWII. He led Hut 8, the area in charge of German navy cryptanalysis, for a time. Here, he developed some methods for breaking German ciphers quicker, including but not limited to adjustments to the pre-war Polish bombe gadget, an electromechanical system that could recognize Enigma device settings.
Turing contributed to analyzing obstructed coded signals that permitted the Allies to beat the Axis powers in some crucial fights, including but not limited to the Battle of the Atlantic.
A movie has been made about him, called the “Imitation Game.” Let’s find out the real truth that doesn’t become obvious through this Hollywood production, the background of this conflicted but powerful genius.

New York Times bestselling author Ali Wentworth offers her hilarious and unique advice on surviving the absurdity of modern life in her third collection of laugh-out-loud comic vignettes.
Ali Wentworth's first two books, Ali in Wonderland and Happily Ali After, were lauded by readers, critics, and fellow comedians alike. Entertainment Weekly included Happily Ali After on its "Must List" and hailed it as "hilarious. . . . Her glass isn't half full—it's "empty and cracked," while Cosmopolitan praised it as "razor-sharp." Chelsea Handler called Ali in Wonderland "truly hilarious," and Kathy Griffin christened it, "Chicken Soup for the Vagina." Alec Baldwin has described Ali as "funny and warm and crazy all at once. Like Barbara Eden. But on something. Like crystal meth," and Jerry Seinfeld has raved, "Everything that comes out of Ali Wentworth's mouth is funny!"
At once endearing and hilarious, thoughtful and far-fetched, this third collection offers Ali at her wisest and wittiest as she delivers tips, pointers, and quips on a host of life's conundrums and sticky situations, including the funny, sometimes embarrassing yet unforgettable situations that have shaped her inimitable world view as a wife, mother, actress, comedian, and all around bon vivant. Thoroughly entertaining, Go Ask Ali is packed with thoughts and musings from "the girlfriend you want to have a glass of wine with, the one who makes you laugh because she sees the funny and the absurd in everything" (Huffington Post).

A cross-country hitchhiking journey with America's most beloved weirdo.
John Waters is putting his life on the line. Armed with wit, a pencil-thin mustache, and a cardboard sign that reads "I'm Not Psycho," he hitchhikes across America from Baltimore to San Francisco, braving lonely roads and treacherous drivers. But who should we be more worried about, the delicate film director with genteel manners or the unsuspecting travelers transporting the Pope of Trash?
Before he leaves for this bizarre adventure, Waters fantasizes about the best and worst possible scenarios: a friendly drug dealer hands over piles of cash to finance films with no questions asked, a demolition-derby driver makes a filthy sexual request in the middle of a race, a gun-toting drunk terrorizes and holds him hostage, and a Kansas vice squad entraps and throws him in jail. So what really happens when this cult legend sticks out his thumb and faces the open road? His real-life rides include a gentle eighty-one-year-old farmer who is convinced Waters is a hobo, an indie band on tour, and the perverse filmmaker's unexpected hero: a young, sandy-haired Republican in a Corvette.
Laced with subversive humor and warm intelligence, Carsick is an unforgettable vacation with a wickedly funny companion-and a celebration of America's weird, astonishing, and generous citizenry.A Macmillan Audio production.
