Summary

Thomas Singer is eleven years old. Soon, on his twelfth birthday, his father will present him with his first shotgun and take him on his first deer hunting trip. Thomas longed to go hunting all his young life, until the day he saw poachers shooting a deer, until the day he meet Emma. That day, as Thomas watched the wounded deer fall, something magical happened: a mysterious old woman suddenly rushed out from among the trees, laid her hands on the graceful animal, and somehow completely healed it. That day his life changed forever. With Emma's guidance, Thomas learns to heal and communicate with animals forcing him to realize he could never kill one. Now his whole world is turned upside down. He loves his father and doesn't want to disappoint him; in his father's eyes, being a man is to go hunting with men. But his birthday is coming fast, and soon he will have to choose. In the tradition of Where the Red Fern Grows and Old Yeller, The Healer of Harrow Point is a classic coming-of-age story in which a young boy learns the beauty of life, the folly of violence, and the secrets of true friendship.

From Edwardian crime capers to Victorian Christmasses, their time-slip stories are always exciting and beautifully told.

The Lost Treasure of Annwn, the fourth book in the magical Jack Brenin series, sees Jack wrestling with a daunting task. It has been centuries since one of Annwn’s greatest treasures, a golden torc, was broken into three pieces and hidden away for safe keeping. If Jack can find and remake the lost treasure it will prove beyond doubt that he is the rightful heir to the throne of Annwn. Jack must find the missing pieces and remake them into the king’s torc or there will be no coronation at Samhain. If Jack can’t find and remake the torc he will only ever be king of the festivals, like his ancestor before him. To top it all Jack also has to cope with a local gang of boys who have taken a dislike to him. The Lost Treasure of Annwn is about friendship, loyalty, determination and proving your worth to yourself and others.
Read about Jack’s continuing adventures in this latest installment, following the international bestseller The Golden Acorn, winner of the 2010 Brit Writers’ Award, and its sequels, Glasruhen Gate and Silver Hill.

    Praise for Fabric Paper Thread

“Sutcliffe’s first book is an approachable set of projects, mostly embroidery-based...Her aesthetic is charming: simple, often patterned, designs with easy-to-stitch lines, with just enough trendiness to appeal. . . . This book is a lovely gift to the supervised young crafter.” —Publishers Weekly

“All of the projects are cool and fun, and appeal to anyone. Though most of the pictures have girls doing the projects, the projects aren’t girly and my son didn’t consider any of the projects “off limits” for a boy. . . . Fabric Paper Thread is full of ideas. Many of these projects will make great road trip and vacation projects, and I’m looking forward to trying them out with my kids.” —Sew A Straight Line
