Summary

“Ever since becoming good friends though collecting shaving mugs ourselves, we have always talked about writing a book on the subject together. The shaving mug series will cover all aspects of quality shaving mugs to increase collector’s knowledge about shaving mugs. The photographs of the shavings mugs within the books are from the author’s own collection. It is not our intention to cover the history of the pottery, as we want to concentrate on the shaving mugs themselves.”

“A charming book full of erudition and wit” that explores the human impulse to accumulate books (Literary Review).   Jacques Bonnet, a lifelong accumulator of books ancient and modern, lives in a house large enough to accommodate his tens of thousands of volumes, as well as some overspill from the libraries of his friends. While his musings on the habits of collectors from the earliest known libraries are learned, amusing, and instructive, his advice on cataloging may even save lives.   Ranging from classical Greece to contemporary Iceland, from Balzac to Moby-Dick and Google, Phantoms on the Bookshelves is a blend of memoir, history, and love letter that will be a lasting delight for all who treasure books.

The first known reference to a card game comes from China in AD868. By the middle of the 15th century, Ming Dynasty players were using packs with four suits. Some people used wooden tiles instead, which led to the introduction of dominoes and rummikub.
Games spread across Asia into Europe. The Saracens and Moors were playing an ancient game called naib in the 14th century, and Egyptian decks with 52 cards survive from the same period. The suits were traditionally swords, clubs, cups and coins but the French introduced hearts, diamonds, clubs and spades and these have stuck with the Anglo-American decks of today.
Games for one person are called solitaire or patience. Two-player games like piquet and gin rummy remain popular, while partnership games like contract bridge and whist allow for plenty of intrigue. Poker pits players against one another in a bid to discover who has the best hand. In this fascinating ebook, Liam McCann examines the most popular card games in the world.

The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up by Marie Kondo - Book Summary - Readtrepreneur(Disclaimer: This is NOT the original book, but an unofficial summary.)
Does spring cleaning always seem to go bad? No matter how many times you clean up the entire house does the same mess reappear every time? The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up is a step-by-step book which takes cleaning to the next level. Marie Kondo invented a revolutionary method for organizing the entire house called the KonMari method.(Note: This summary is wholly written and published by readtrepreneur. It is not affiliated with the original author in any way)
"Tidying is the act of confronting yourself; cleaning is the act of confronting nature" - Marie Kondo
Tidying orders the mind while cleaning purifies it. It is really pure illusion if we think that our mind can be clear and be at peace when our house is messy. If you've tried all the other cleaning methods taught by other "gurus", give the KonMari method one last chance... one last chance to purify your house once and for all. Organizing and tidying the house could be fun and fulfilling with the KonMari method. You don't give up on your child when they're learning to walk, so why give up on your house when it's not organized?
P.S. The KonMari method which will be taught even in this summary book might seriously take organizing your house to the next level. What's the worst that could happen anyway?
