Summary

MAHU FIRE, the third Mahu Investigation from Lambda Award finalist Neil S. Plakcy, begins as openly gay Honolulu homicide detective Kimo Kanapa'aka attends a local charity event in support of gay marriage. When a bomb disrupts the gala, Kimo, his family and friends are thrust into a deadly contest between the forces of good and evil.
A wave of religious fundamentalism sweeps through O'ahu, at the same time as violence against gay and lesbian-owned businesses is on the rise. Coincidence? Kimo doesn't think so. Working with hunky fire inspector Mike Riccardi – day and night – Kimo digs through the ashes to discover a motive for the attacks, as well as who is behind them.
MAHU FIRE showcases a handsome, sexy hero who struggles to overcome personal troubles and makes private sacrifices for the public good. Throw in an exotic tropical locale, plenty of aloha spirit and a dash of surf culture, as well as a slam-bang ending that puts Kimo and the people he cares about in danger, and you've got the makings of a page-turning mystery.
Winner of the Left Coast Crime award for best police procedural, and finalist for the Lambda Literary Award for best gay mystery. Perfect for fans of Joseph Hansen, Michael Nava, and John Morgan Wilson.

Campbell St. Clair never expected her first novel to catapult her to success. She should be excited that she'll be consulting on the movie adaptation, but she's struggling. Her ability to write her newest novel has been practically non-existent, she's all but given up on having a social life, and with the recent loss of her father, she's trying to understand what she wants for her future.Sloane Murphy's career has been careening forward for the last decade, so it doesn't matter that she doesn't like being an actress. The movie is a great opportunity for her, and in spite of her ambivalence, the show must go on. She's done this enough times that she just needs to follow the script and hit her lines. But she wasn't expecting to see Campbell St. Clair, at least that's what she goes by now, on set, and her presence sends Sloane's already precarious life into a tailspin when their paths collide again.Neither are the same people they were when they'd met in college, but do either of them know who they are now? In a world of playing pretend, it's hard to know what's real, even if it's right in front of them.Contains mature themes.

Eighteen-year-old Charlee Parker met the love of her life in a parking lot—a leggy brunette with a valedictorian medal hanging from her rear-view mirror and an attitude as biting as a Boston winter.
Alexandra Woodson was guarded, a nineteen-year-old orphan set on a bright future in hospitality administration. She never imagined an art student with a penchant for cheesy pick-up lines and stealing parking spaces would crack her rigid exterior and claim her heart.
For four years, theirs was an enviable love—evergreen and growing. Unbreakable . . . until it broke.
Alex's job now brings her back to Boston, after five years working on the opposite side of the country. When, by chance, they meet again, Charlee and Alex are swept up in a whirlwind of heart-rending history, tossed between past and present, and lovers old and new. Will their lingering connection be enough to convince them that some loves are meant to last? Or should the past remain in the past?

Tim and Rod grew up a few suburbs from each other in Newcastle, New South Wales. They were gay but their worlds were not. Before they found each other, they were alone and miserable, marooned in a sea of impossible expectations. Rod was shackled by a conservative Christian upbringing, while Tim felt unmanly and inferior beside his macho, sport-obsessed older brothers. After enduring their own private versions of hell, Tim and Rod crossed paths on a dating app. They swiped for Mr Right, and suddenly everything clicked.Since then, they have taken on the world, including winning The Amazing Race in 2019 as the first married same-sex couple on an Australian reality TV series. That brought its own heat, with the charismatic pair still copping homophobic hate for their public displays of affection. But, as their book shows, when you've been to hell and back, you don't let anything get in the way of The Greatest Feeling in the World.
