Summary

For grades 3-5, our State Standards-based combined resource meets the number & operations concepts addressed by the NCTM standards and encourages the students to review the concepts in unique ways. The task sheets introduce the mathematical concepts to the students around a central problem taken from real-life experiences, while the drill sheets provide warm-up and timed practice questions for the students to strengthen their procedural proficiency skills. Included are problems involving place value, fractions, addition, subtraction and using money. The combined task & drill sheets offer space for reflection, and opportunity for the appropriate use of technology. Also contained are assessment and standards rubrics, review sheets, test prep, color activity posters and bonus worksheets. All of our content is aligned to your State Standards and are written to Bloom's Taxonomy, STEM, and NCTM standards.

    Excerpt:
"The life of William McKinley affords a shining example to all American boys of what honesty, perseverance, and a strict attention to duty can accomplish. The twenty-fifth President of our Nation was born in a humble home, of humble parentage, and had to make his own way in life at an early age. When little more than a boy he taught school for a living, and at the age of eighteen he became a private in the army. He served through the whole of the great Civil War, and so faithful was he and so heroic that he became first a commissary sergeant, next a lieutenant, then a captain, and, finally, left the army a full-fledged major, twenty-two years old."

Once upon no time there was a Little Soul . . .And this Little Soul wanted to understand forgiveness. Except the Little Soul didn't just want to understand forgiveness--the Little Soul wanted to experience forgiveness and know what it felt like to forgive another. So God helped in the best of all possible ways: by putting the Little Soul in the body of Meghan, a newborn baby just beginning to explore all the magic the world had to offer. But God never sends any Little Soul to Earth all alone. God sent along Melvin, a guardian angel, and a promise that God would always be there--even if the Little Soul forgot from time to time.Experience the world through the eyes of the Little Soul in her first few moments on Earth as Meghan meets her mommy and daddy, learns about love, and begins to figure out what it means--and how it feels--to be human. The Little Soul and the Earth is a delightful, vividly told and illustrated tale from the team that created The Little Soul and the Sun. The first of a new series of Little Soul adventures, it exemplifies the vital truth that God is with us always, no matter where our own adventures lead and no matter how many times we may forget that truth. Gently reminding us that beauty and love are all around, the world of the joyous Little Soul is a place your child will want to visit again and again.
