Dr. James Blair (J.B.) Hill, is the son of David Hill, the youngest son of Napoleon Hill and Florence Hornor. J.B. graduated high school in 1966 and then went to sea serving on cargo ships until 1969 when he was drafted into the United States Marine Corps as a private. In 1973, he earned a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at Vanderbilt University. Soon thereafter he was commissioned as a second lieutenant and served as a field artillery officer. He later earned an MS degree in mathematics from the Naval Postgraduate School. In 1995, after 26 years of service, he retired from the Marine Corps and at the age of 53 took up the study of medicine. Dr. Hill is now board-certified in family medicine and works as a hospitalist, specializing in geriatric care. J.B.'s introduction to Napoleon Hill's philosophy began at twelve years of age when his grandfather gave him a copy of Think and Grow Rich and told him to read it. He says it took him until (he was) twenty-three years of age to apply the principles of his grandfather's teaching. What he learned from his grandfather changed his life. Dr. J.B. Hill lives with his wife and two children in Bridgeport, West Virgina.

Napoleon Hill (1883-1970) was born in a one-room cabin on the Pound River in Wise County, Virginia. He began his writing career at age 13 as a "mountain reporter" for small town newspapers and went on to become America's most beloved motivational author. His classic work, Think and Grow Rich, continues to inspire millions to believe and achieve and is a cornerstone of the modern self-actualization movement. Before passing, Hill established the Foundation as a nonprofit educational institution whose mission is to perpetuate his philosophy of leadership, self-motivation, and individual achievement.
