“Dives deep into the psychology of information and emotion in conflict situations . . . Highly recommended for facilitators and negotiators as well as mediators.” —Jennifer Beer, author of The Mediator’s Handbook and negotiation instructor at Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania
Knowing how to formulate and ask incisive questions to get to the core of a conflict, challenge entrenched thinking, and shift perspectives is the key to successful conflict resolution. The Mediator’s Toolkit employs the author’s powerful “S Questions Model” to provide readers with the skills and tools to do just that. It addresses four dimensions of successful questions for mediation: the subject matter dimension, the structure dimension, the information-seeking dimension, and the shifting thinking dimension. The toolkit clearly explains:The theory behind each question type, including exploration of relevant neuroscience and psychologyThe purpose of different types of questionsHow the questions workWhen to use different types of questionsHow to build and apply questions to mediation in a non-threatening way
This essential practical guide will radically sharpen, focus, and improve the questioning skills of qualified mediators, students, lecturers, trainers, and those using questions to challenge and effect change, in any context.
When the American Revolution began, the Continental Army sported numerous volunteers from Ireland, Scotland, virtually every European nation between France and Russia, and men from the northern and southern borders of the European continent. There are good reasons America doesn’t possess a constitutionally-confirmed national language, despite an English-speaking majority; among the early proposals for such a common language, German and French served as contenders, with the latter going on to become Western Europe’s official diplomatic language.
Plenty of unusual characters came to the colonies to participate in the war, with many sporting dubious titles such as the Baron de Kalb, but perhaps none arrived in a more unique way than John Paul Jones, a Scottish sailor who had plenty of experience with British ships before a controversial row on one ship compelled him to flee to the colonies in 1775. As it turned out, he was arriving in Virginia just in time for more fighting, this time against the British.
Despite his lofty sobriquet, Jones constantly found himself frustrated by people and events beyond his control during the Revolution, and it would take years before the aggressive commander could take the fight to the British. Through a murky system involving French ships, and an even murkier chain of events, Jones engaged the British in battle around the British Isles, and his aggression became the stuff of legend. While the British accused him of being a pirate, he was feted by the Americans and French during the war before joining the Russian navy after the war.
John Paul Jones: The Life and Legacy of the Revolutionary War Commander Dubbed the Father of the American Navy profiles one of the Revolutionary War’s most colorful figures.
Rewire Your Mindset And Get Fast Results With Hypnosis!
The advantages of hypnosis therapy are widespread. A lot of individuals report positive changes with hypnosis and it's recognized as a valid type of holistic alternative medicine.
Hypnosis is a popular technique utilized for weight loss, overcoming addiction, healing, achieving goals, relaxation and stress relief. It's utilized to get rid of undesired behaviors and beliefs and to manifest new desires and achieve goals in life.
If you wish to influence your subconscious mind to accept new programming for positive alterations hypnosis is an effective technique for doing that.
Among the chief advantages of hypnosis is that when you in a hypnotic state brain wave frequencies decelerate. You center or focus your awareness and you're actually much more aware than usual. A state of centered awareness almost feels as though you're more of an observer of thought and images rather than a part of them. This allows you to bypass the "gatekeepers" at the entrance to the subconscious and superconscious so you are able to access these levels of consciousness directly, and the brain is much more receptive to suggestion.
The unconscious, or subconscious may then be reprogrammed so it lets go of old patterns, beliefs and feelings that no longer serve you. They may be replaced with suggestions that are favorable and affirming. The superconscious mind may open you into fresh insights and originative ideas.
A common misperception is that you only have to be hypnotized once to make lasting changes. Occasionally this is the case, but for lasting positive changes, hypnosis suggestions need to be repeated several times till your mind accepts the new programming.
You'll need to enter hypnosis and listen to your audio multiple times. Don't expect that one session will set up and run your new programs.
Put this audio on each night before you go to bed and listen to it right before you fall asleep. If you have time also listen to it first thing upon waking. Do this for at least 21 days consistently so that positive change can take affect in your life.
Tarot is best used as a tool for self-discovery, healing, growth, empowerment, and liberation. Tarot archetypes provide the reader with a window into present circumstances and future potential. But what if that window only opened up on a world that was white, European, and heterosexual? The interpretations of the tarot that have been passed down through tradition presuppose a commonality and normalcy among humanity. At the root of card meanings are archetypes that we accept without questioning. But at what point do archetypes become stereotypes?Humanity is diverse--culturally, spiritually, sexually. Tarot has the power to serve a greater population, with the right keys to unlock the tarot's deeper meanings. In Queering the Tarot, Cassandra Snow deconstructs the meanings of the 78 cards explaining the ways in which each card might be interpreted against the norm. Queering the Tarot explores themes of sexuality, coming out, gender and gender-queering, sources of oppression and empowerment, and many other topics especially familiar to not-straight folks. He came to Tokyo looking for the experience of a lifetime with women who were supposed to be falling over westerners. What he found was he wasn’t manly enough or gainfully employed and able to shower them with money.
But, his luck changes when he meets a cute little thing who takes him home for a fun ride. He’s too turned on to care much about what he finds – a lady who isn’t quite a lady – yet. Kyle’s just happy to be getting some, and he goes for it.
The job offer is what comes next. Tokyo citizens love westerners, alright, but it’s the Tokyo men who pay the most. And, the kinkier, the better. If Kyle will agree to a little surgery and a little transformation – he can keep that thing between his legs – it’s part of the kink – then he will have all the money he wants.
Will he undergo the procedures necessary to truly become his Tokyo plaything? Will the humiliation be too much, or will he pull through in the end?
PSA: This story contains a desperate man who feels forced into an undesirable situation. He’ll be dominated and humiliated by men and women alike, and gall darned if he doesn’t get off on... things... he never thought possible.
