Summary

Mark Billingham is one of the UK’s top crime writers. His books have sold over 6 million copies worldwide and have been translated into twenty-five languages. With Love Like Blood, a #5 Sunday Times bestseller in the UK, Billingham brought back his hit series character DI Tom Thorne and paired him up for the first time with the straight-laced DI from Die of Shame. In The Killing Habit, he brought the unlikely but compelling duo back together to great success, and he's teamed them up again in Their Little Secret.
This latest installation of the Thorne series is driven by a creepy and compelling story of obsession, when a couple in love go on a killing spree to fuel their passion, like a murderous Bonnie and Clyde.
Billingham is beloved among the crime community. For Die of Shame he did events along the East Coast with Lee Child, Karin Slaughter, Laura Lippman, Michael Connelly, and Joseph Finder—most of whom have blurbed him, as have Gillian Flynn, George Pelecanos and others. He is also a Bouchercon regular, appearing as the international guest of honor at the 2018 convention in St. Petersburg, Florida.
In the Dark, a 4-part BBC adaptation of Billingham’s novel of the same name combined with Time of Death, aired in the UK in summer 2017 to a flurry of publicity. Billingham was featured in the first episode of a new true crime documentary series in the UK called “Written in Blood” to talk about the inspiration for Love Like Blood. The episode aired in September 2017 on CBS Reality and has reached over 6.64 million viewers. A BBC adaptation of Rush of Blood is also under development.

South Africa’s preeminent crime fiction writer, Deon Meyer is internationally acclaimed for his razor’s-edge thrillers, unforgettable characters, and nuanced portrayals of contemporary life in his native country. The fifth pulse-pounder starring Captain Benny Griessel, a lead detective in South Africa’s priority crimes unit, delves into the country’s burgeoning tech and wine industries.A week before Christmas, a young photographer discovers a plastic-wrapped corpse amidst the sand dunes north of Cape Town. The only thing found on the corpse is a dead iPhone, but it doesn’t take long for the police to identify the body as that of Ernst Richter—the tech whiz behind MyAlibi, an internet service that provides unfaithful partners with sophisticated cover stories to hide an affair. Meanwhile, Benny Griessel is called to the scene of a multiple homicide involving a former colleague, and four years of sobriety are undone on the spot. He emerges from his drunken haze determined to quit the force, but the take-no-sass Major Mbali Kaleni, now his boss, wants Griessel on the Richter case. The high-profile murder has already been the subject of fierce media speculation, with questions swirling about the potential for motive: could the perpetrator be one of the countless jilted spouses? An aggrieved client? Before the week is out, an unexpected connection to a storied family winery comes to light, and Griessel’s reputation is again on the line. Mounting towards a startling conclusion, Icarus is another exceptional novel from the “King of South African Crime.”
