Over many years, I've analyzed dozens of books from various sources. I began by reading much of the literary editions promising immediate results, mostly from authors with background in psychology, offering memorization methods and concentration techniques, but nothing seemed to work. They didn’t work because were based on common sense, such as studying in quiet and well-lit locations, and also because, largely, they exposed scientific models of approach originating in the same social irrationality that was creating students with learning difficulties. In a society that considered the necessity of concentration as a fundamental and differential principle in the ability to learn, everything that was presented on learning followed the strengthening of that same social fallacy. The works available on the subject of learning appeared and appear to not consider what for society in general is not real – learning as a mental and emotional apprehension of reality. A forced retention of reality is promoted in our minds, as if it was possible to learn what you cannot comprehend, experience or apply with autonomy.
Society has corrupted itself in the past centuries, and it is living in this situation with a natural and utter disregard for a constructive evolution of thousands of years. This has motivated me to analyze various works on mental health, namely, related to how the brain processes and analyses reality – which is normal and what is not. Inevitably, and as a consequence of the detachment towards the illusions of humanity, a new world was unveiled before my eyes, and with it new paths to know and discover. A good part of this new knowledge has changed my personality and altered my way of facing life forever.

    Merriam-Webster, move over!
Until now, no English dictionary ever found the fun or the fascination in revealing the meanings of letters. One-Letter Words, a Dictionary illuminates the more than 1,000 surprising definitions associated with each letter in the English alphabet. For instance, Conley uncovers seventy-six distinct uses of the letter X, the most versatile, most printed letter in the English language. Using facts, figures, quotations, and etymologies, the author provides a complete and enjoyable understanding of the one-letter word.
Conley teaches us that each letter's many different meanings span multiple subjects, including science—B denotes a blood type and also is a symbol for boron on the periodic table of elements—and history—in the Middle Ages, B was branded on a blasphemer's forehead. With the letter A, he reminds us that A is not only a bra size, but also a musical note.
One-Letter Words, a Dictionary is a rich, thought-provoking, and curious compendium of the myriad definitions attributed to each letter of the English alphabet. This book is the essential desk companion, gift, or reference volume for a vast array of readers: wordsmiths, puzzle lovers, teachers, students, librarians, and armchair linguists will all find One-Letter Words, a Dictionary a must-have.
