Beschreibung

Jonah's been in prison for thirteen rough years. His first day on parole, he arrives in Manhattan, where a shill lures him into visiting a dodgy men's clothing store, one that offers parolees quality suits at a discount. While there, he meets Theo, the store's owner. Suave Theo charms Jonah into meeting him later for dinner.
Over their meal, the handsome store owner regales Jonah with stories of his youth in Alexandria, Egypt. For a while, they're joined by Theo's beautiful friend, Lena. She's the daughter of a Russian who raised her in a Constantinople nightclub. Afterwards, the two men wind up in Theo's elegant flat. Jonah's eager to spend an intimate evening there with his host. Then Lena shows up and makes herself at home. Gradually, Jonah realizes the two friends plan to share him together in Theo's bed.

    2. Especially when you throw up on them.
    3. She may not be cut out for this.
When the police drag her to an investigation, she’s just as baffled by the scene. With clues like superhero masks, disco balls, and Bigfoot, are they ever going to find who did it?
As she digs deeper into the photographic evidence, she realizes her small town is full of secrets. And she might be happier staying in the dark.
A laugh-out-loud mystery that will keep you guessing and quickly turning the pages. One Hit Wonder offers the just right reader escape, but fair warning, this book leaves readers wanting more.

When Paige Devereux, the beautiful young wife of wealthy Carson Devereux comes up missing, her sister Katie seems to be the only one who is truly concerned. Carson Devereux is the owner of CDI, a well-known international security firm. After several days with no word from Paige, a worried Katie tracks down former FBI Agent Colton Chandler. While Chandler used to serve as a renowned solver of missing persons cases, she finds him living in a dilapidated trailer, working as an over-the-road semi-truck driver. At first, Colton has no interest in dredging up his past by helping the woman find her sister, but her pleas and her heartfelt concern for her little sister convince him to meet with the missing woman’s husband. Rolling Justice is a mystery in the tradition of the old Murder She Wrote series, the story of a has-been who discovers that while his career and living conditions may have changed, he’s still capable of doing what he set out to do in the first place: helping people by solving a mystery.

From the author of I, Claudius: “A re-weaving of Homeric myth reveals the true story of The Return of Odysseus for Nausicaa” (Kirkus Reviews).   In this innovative re-imagining of the Odyssey’s history, Sicilian princess Nausicaa recounts her story, and how she, not the poet Homer, came to write the Odyssey. Set in the eighth century BC, it recounts the story of a determined young woman who lives an adventurous life: rescuing her father’s throne from outside threats, freeing herself from an abusive marriage, and saving her two younger brothers from certain death. Nausicaa is a passionate, religious, and dynamic heroine who is more than a match for the heroes in the epic poem she claims to have authored.   “A great imagination and above all a powerful intellect.” —The Daily Telegraph
