Only 26 percent of Americans believe that advertisers "practice integrity."It's hard to blame them for thinking this way. Thanks largely to the reduced cost of promoting a business online, our lives are flooded with totally unregulated online advertisements and professional-looking but misleading websites. Meanwhile, business owners and marketers must sift through the glut of promises that these digital tools will transform their business. As a result, it is easy to be duped, to fail, and then wonder if digital marketing—and indeed any marketing—might work at all. In The Invisible Promise, Harry Beckwith, New York Times bestselling author of the iconic marketing classic, Selling the Invisible, applies his forty-plus years of advising businesses on every continent and his research in the last ten years to impart the proven guidance that businesses of all sizes desperately need. In this new age in marketing, he details how to build digital and nondigital messages that enhance your reputation for integrity; that stand out from the clutter; and that can produce exponential growth while saving you both time and money.

There are four stages of transition that all of us experience when making a successful adjustment to a new work situation . . . and eight common, potentially negative consequences that are likely to accompany any organizational change initiative. Leaders who understand these four stages, and who understand the human dynamics behind the eight most common challenges, can improve their odds of success. In this powerful, accessible resource for leaders, management consultant Hamish Knox gives managers an overview of the four stages of transition that all of us experience when making a successful adjustment to a new work situation. They are: 1. Denial; 2. Resistance; 3. Exploration; and 4. Commitment.Knox also argues that there are eight common, potentially negative consequences that are likely to accompany any and every organizational change initiative. They are: 1. A sense of loss; 2.Confusion and ambivalence; 3. Reduced trust; 4. Increased concern about survival; 5. Communication problems; 6. Lower productivity; 7. Turnover; and 8. Strong emotional responses.Based on the work of David Sandler, creator of the Sandler Selling System.

I happen to think that being a product manager is one of the best jobs out there. I find it to be very satisfying because I'm in charge of the success of a product.

If I do the right things, then my product will be selected by a large number of customers and it will solve their problems. If I don’t do my job right, my company will probably decide to stop offering my product after a while. Ultimately, my career is in my hands.

    What You'll Find Inside:
YOUR MOTHER WAS RIGHT: HOW PRODUCT MANAGERS DRESS FOR SUCCESS
GROW YOUR CAREER – WHAT PRODUCT MANAGERS NEED TO DO FOR SUCCESS
HOW TO BUILD A MENTOR NETWORK FOR YOUR PRODUCT MANAGEMENT CAREER
TO GET YOUR NEXT JOB, YOU NEED TO KNOW HOW FIRMS HIRE PRODUCT MANAGERS

As product managers, we all control our careers. What this means is that we need to always be networking because you never know when you may find yourself looking for your next job. As we move through our career, it will soon be important that we learn how to not only manage products, but people also.

The way that we land a product manager job is by having a resume that does the work for us. How to create such a resume is a skill that we all have to learn. We don't know it all and so in order to help us to make the right decisions, it can be helpful to find a mentor who is willing to give us good advice.

Once we've landed the right job, our work is not over. We need to understand how to get things done effectively and multitasking is not the answer. Additionally, if despite our hard work we get passed over for the next promotion we need to have a plan as to what our next steps are going to be.
