Summary

Maggie and Killian may have prevented Earth's destruction, but the Other Side is not looking too good.  The queen of the elves is dying and when she goes, everyone goes.  Even worse, Maggie's got to move in with Killian.
Time is running out to save the queen and the situation is serious enough for Maggie and Killian to start a ragtag resistance team with Father Killarney and Xiaoming.  It's going to be one hellish ride through the Dark Dimension, especially since their mode of transportation is a horse whose riders tend to be of the more headless variety.

From former detective turned noted author and dog trainer, Carol Lea Benjamin, comes the fourth book in the critically-lauded Rachel Alexander mystery series, with a sharp new package--and for the first time in mass market!
Dash, Rachel Alexander's pit bull terrier, has come to be known as half a sleuthing team. But when not called upon to solve crimes he has another very important job: that of a therapy dog, working with people who are developmentally challenged.
Lady, a mop-coated puli, was the therapy dog at Harbor View, a Greenwich Village home for "throw away" people. But now lady has vanished...and the owner of the home has been killed in a bizarre and mysterious hit-and-run accident. Rachel and Dash are the perfect duo to tackle this mystery: she can find the answers and Dash can bring a sense of calm and order to the residents.
As the pieces start coming together, Rachel and Dash not only expose an ugly plot, but also help some innocent victims find justice in a world that too often ignores them.

Young Sister Gertrude is well-educated, has worked for an accountant and has an appealing sense of humour. But one autumn morning, Sister Gertrude is found dead inside a small wooden shed, just beside the river. Surely a young nun could not die from alcohol poisoning? But when the Reverend Mother delves more deeply into Sister Gertrude’s background, she finds some puzzling anomalies. Why did the young nun not delay her entry to the convent until after her sister’s wedding? Is it a coincidence that her father died of a similar illness not long before? And could there be a link between Sister Gertrude’s death and the gunpowder explosion on Spike Island? The Reverend Mother must find the answers to these questions if she is to safeguard her community from suspicions of murder.

A new cold war is coming, and Liz Carlyle is about to find herself on very thin ice. Still reeling from the loss of the man she loved in a botched antiterrorist operation in Paris, Carlyle has been posted to MI5's counter-espionage desk, where her bosses hope the relative quiet might give her the chance to find her feet again.

However, they hadn't counted on the aftershocks of Russia's incursions into Crimea and President Putin's determination to silence those who would oppose him, wherever they may be living in the world. As a result, Liz soon finds herself on the hunt for a Russian spy on British soil--a spy whose intentions are unknown, and whose presence is a threat not only to Russian dissidents living in England but also to the security of the nation itself. And with MI5 and MI6 coming under painful public scrutiny in the post-Edward Snowden world, for Liz and her team, security is something that is beginning to feel increasingly remote.

Pacy, gripping and drawn from her own experience, Stella Rimington's latest Liz Carlyle thriller brings the new cold war compellingly to life.
