La Fontaine took his plots from Aesop and from India and made something entirely his own of them, and French children have been learning them by heart for three hundred years. Its 80 original illustrations have been carefully restored and coloured for this edition.

In Eloise and Other Verses, Constanze Hawkins writes about loss and nature, both human and natural. Through her depiction of loss we feel the characters of those experiencing and dealing with loss, we get a glimpse of aspects of human nature. Sometimes themes of loss are intertwined with scenes of nature. The author writes about a range of human sorrows, for example the loss of youth in 'Dance Cockie Dance' and the loss of a mother in 'Mother Mother Magna Mater'. Loss is an inescapable part of the human condition and the author treats it with careful, thoughtful and poignant writing. Also included in this volume are poems portraying the natural beauty of nature. These few poems of the natural world offer new pictures of themes such as trees and the ocean. They make an interesting addition to this collection.

This book is a T4T love letter to the living cosmos, to Jewish mystics who get a little slutty with it, to anarchists who make their every day-to-day choice as if the healed world is already here, to people whose gender identities are just on the verge of disintegrating. You are hereby invited to use this book as a sacred text, which is to say, to use this book as a sex toy, which is to say, to use this book as your incense, your needle, your wedge, your weapon in the waging of spiritual warfare against Control.

Broken childhood, broken dreams. Never heard, yet misunderstood. Is a home a safe place to be? In this captivating work of extended verse, immerse yourself in the poignant tale of a woman yearning to break free from the shackles of her past. Caught in a web of tangles and knots, she finds solace in her solitude, dreaming of a life unrestrained and full of wonder. With plans woven in her mind, she embraces the quiet corners of her world, seeking refuge in the pages of her own thoughts. As she navigates the harshness that surrounds her, she keenly feels every emotion, adapting and surrendering to the circumstances. Though made to feel fortunate for mere survival, she knows deep down that true happiness eludes her. Restless nights plagued by guilt, fear, and unfulfilled desires push her to fight her own battles, determined to overcome personal obstacles rather than wandering into the lives of others.

The language of Poetry is an art that most of us attempt at some point in our lives. Although its commonplace exposure has been somewhat marginalised in today’s often fast-paced lives we all recognise good verse that can empathise with our thoughts or open us up to experience new things in new ways, to better understand and to enjoy the many strands of our lives.
But finding a starting point can be overwhelming, even off-putting, so in this series we offer up our Top 10 classic poets, who brim with talent and verse, on a range of subjects and themes that we can all enjoy.
At first glance, it’s easy to assemble. But once you add those who simply have to be included then you already have too many and the perennially hard part of whittling them down to ten begins. Each and every one of these chosen are masters of their art and craft. Genius in every name.

Hope within syllables was and always will be my "soul child".
When I wrote my 1st ever Haiku, I knew that I would be counting syllables until my last breath.
This book is a little sad but incredibly hopeful.
