Summary

2408. Humanity has travelled to the stars through interstellar portals, but the rebels and criminals were left behind on a ruined Earth. Eighteen-year-old Blaze is one of the last seven hundred people scavenging a living in an increasingly lethal New York. Her mother died six years ago. Her brother turned traitor. She believes her father is Donnell, the leader of the uneasy alliance between the remnants of the Earth Resistance and the old criminal gangs. She's not sure what Donnell believes because he's barely spoken to her since her brother betrayed him.
Blaze has survived this long by being too unimportant to kill, but now the alliance is on the brink of starvation, and an old enemy is trying to seize power. When an aircraft carrying three privileged off-worlders crashes in New York, it adds more fuel to an already explosive situation, and Blaze is forced to step into the spotlight. Can the traitor's sister convince Donnell, the warring divisions, and the off-worlders to work together to leave the death trap of New York? Blaze thinks that failure will mean the death  of everyone she knows, but then she discovers the off-worlders' secret. The stakes here are far higher than just seven hundred lives.
Scavenger Alliance is set in the same future timeline as the Earth Girl trilogy, but takes place several centuries earlier, and features an ancestor of the trilogy's main character, Jarra.

Wake up. It's the first day of seventh grade. Your whole life, from that day until today, vanished like a camera flash. No one else remembers the last ten/fifteen/we-won't-say-how-many years.
    What do you do?
A chilling thought for you. Reality for her. Yesterday, Amy was about to turn twenty-six. Today is Amy's birthday—her thirteenth birthday—and the first day of seventh grade. The last thirteen years vanished overnight.
Amy doesn't know how she got here or how she can get back. If she can get back. If she confides in the wrong person, she could be ridiculed, bullied, committed, even killed. So how can she tell the wrong person from the right one?
On top of all this, Amy has to survive middle school, again. All the bullies, mean girls, belittling teachers, and hormone-crazed hellions are still there. Every cutting comment hurts just as much the second time around. And what's the story with that strange snake symbol she sees everywhere, or the guy who seems to know way more about her than he's willing to tell?
I Am Not Thirteen is an intense, and devastating, supernatural thriller that will keep you hooked until the very last page.

Terry Pratchett's profoundly irreverent novels are consistent number one bestseller in England, where they have catapulted him into the highest echelons of parody next to Mark Twain, Kurt Vonnegut, Douglas Adams, and Carl Hiaasen.
In this Discworld installment, Death comes to Mort with an offer he can't refuse -- especially since being, well, dead isn't compulsory. As Death's apprentice, he'll have free board and lodging, use of the company horse, and he won't need time off for family funerals. The position is everything Mort thought he'd ever wanted, until he discovers that this perfect job can be a killer on his love life.

One brave woman's struggle against magical forces.
Queen Johanna's position in Saardam is fragile. The Barons and Kings of the countries in the hinterland are not happy that she helped the royal family to survive and is now about to ensure the next generation. They vow to teach this little upstart country a lesson for once and for all.
Of course it is not so much about petty rivalry, but about access to the sea port that connects the hinterland with the lucrative ocean trade.
Johanna knows that if it came to a fight Saardam could never survive, so she has invited all the heads of state and other important people for talks to invest in the city's shattered infrastructure for the benefit of all.
As a congregation of royal families gathers such as the lowlands have never seen, the magicians travelling with the esteemed guests prepare the final and most insidious attempt to get control of the upstart little country and its usurper, commoner queen: through her baby daughter.

Fresh from his exploits in the Steel Worlds, home of the Kurii, a savage alien race intent on conquering Gor, Tarl Cabot has been returned to an isolated beach, at coordinates apparently specified by the Priest-Kings, the masters of Gor and the enemy of the Kurii. His only companions are his beautiful new slave Cecily and Ramar, a ferocious sleen bred in the Steel Worlds to hunt and kill. But why has he been returned to such a remote spot? Did the Priest-Kings wish their former agent to serve them once more? Did the Kurii intend to use Cabot to further their own ends? The truth, as Tarl will learn, is darker and deeper than either of these possibilities.   Rediscover this brilliantly imagined world where men are masters and women live to serve their every desire.  Swordsmen of Gor is the 29th book in the Gorean Saga, but you may enjoy reading the series in any order.
