Summary

I'm an authentic Old School Sports Junkie. Old School because I am old as measured in time served, 79-years young; Old School because I believe in corny traditions, and the purity of sports, where athletes play for fun and fans happily engage to get away from the daily pressures of everyday life. 
The take away from the book is rarely but periodically the unexplainable finish happens dare I say miracle. I am 100% convinced "That Lady" is alive watching the action, waiting for the perfect last second moment to decide the outcome. 
The events are scored with Peretz's Sports Finish Index (SFI), which is an analytic tool that objectively ranks team sports finishes. Sports covered include: MLB, NBA, NCAAM, NFL, NCAAF, NHL, Olympics and to a lesser degree other meaningful events under the omnibus heading of Featured Sports including: Ryder Cup Golf, World Cup Soccer, America's Cup, Davis Cup Tennis, CWS, Frozen Four, Little League World Series, WNBA, WCV, and Arena Football. 
Thousands of games were considered and the research effort has been extensive and continuous. 278 events comprise the current SFI, which is seemingly an odd total, but I must confess to falling in love with many of the lower ranked outcomes and consider them all deserving of inclusion.
