With her bakery temporarily closed and the media spinning a half-baked narrative, Penny must prove her innocence before her business is toast. Assisted by her retired baker father and the charming food blogger who's been chronicling her rise to fame, Penny follows a trail of doughy clues. From suspicious kneading techniques that reveal left-handed manipulation to flour blends that don't match any local mill, every baking detail holds significance. But when Penny discovers the victim was secretly writing a tell-all book exposing the baking world's dirty secrets—including recipe theft and sabotaged competitions—she realizes the rolling pin was just the beginning. With the annual Heritage Baking Competition approaching, Penny must separate the wheat from the chaff before the real killer decides to take another whack at justice.
