Synopsis

🧵 Quilt shop owner and master quilter Betsy Binder is hosting her weekly quilting bee when their most competitive member—a perfectionist quilter known for her flawless stitches—is found dead in the shop's back room, pinned beneath a heavy quilting frame with a poisoned quilting needle clutched in her hand. The police suspect a tragic accident, but Betsy notices the quilt block they were collectively stitching contains a hidden message in the color placement and the victim's thimble holds a microSD card. With her quilting bee shattered by suspicion and the shop's reputation in tatters, Betsy must piece together an investigation as intricate as a double wedding ring pattern. Assisted by her loyal quilting friends and the handsome textile historian documenting their community quilt project, Betsy uncovers a scheme involving stolen antique quilts, forged quilt appraisals, and a lucrative black market for historic textiles. From suspicious batting materials that reveal modern substitutions to stitching patterns that don't match the quilter's known style, every patch tells a story. But when Betsy discovers the victim was blackmailing fellow quilters about their family secrets hidden in signature quilts, she realizes the killer is protecting a legacy more precious than any heirloom. With the annual quilt show approaching and the real culprit still stitching lies, Betsy must baste together the truth before her own quilt gets permanently bound off.
