Summary

History is replete with stories of great people and extraordinary events that either never happened or didn’t happen the way we were told they did. Such news or embellishment thereof are part of what we consider common knowledge – information taught in schools and passed down to us. And they are wrong. How about these gems:The winter of 1777-78 was the coldest winter in Valley Forge in years, and many Continental soldiers died from the sub-zero weather: LIEMohandas Gandhi held a lifelong belief in nonviolence, that characterized the struggle for Indian independence: LIEThe atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were the mostr destructive air strikes against Japan during World War II: LIELies, Lies, and More Lies is a humorous, witty, and charming collection of anecdotes surrounding history, pop culture, and more. It is a book that will have readers questioning what they’ve learned or been told and, for these 250 facts anyway, the book advises you: Don’t You Believe It!

Acclaimed as one of the sharpest political intellects of his generation, David Laws saw his ministerial career nosedive before it had begun when, after only seventeen days as Chief Secretary to the Treasury, he was forced to resign when unintended breaches of parliamentary expenses rules came to light. You can’t keep a good man down, however, and he returned to government, where he was also responsible for implementation of the coalition agreement and planning the Lib Dems’ strategy in the run-up to the 2015 election.
David began writing a diary in March 2012 and continued writing it throughout his ministerial career and up to the 2015 election, which devastated the Liberal Democrats in Parliament.
Frank, acerbic, sometimes shocking and often funny, Coalition Diaries chronicles the historic Liberal Democrat–Conservative coalition government, offering extraordinary pen portraits of all the personalities involved, some of whom were cast aside at the election or put to the knife after Brexit, while others are active in today’s government.

Why am I not being rich?
My living process forced me to ask this question. I asked it with absolute sincerity, and I got my convincing answer.
I know you have been asking the same question, and you are desperately searching for an answer. Because of that, I am motivated to write this book. My aim is to tell you how I got my answer. It may not give a direct answer to the question for you. But, it has the potential to help you get your answer in the most convincing manner.
Richness is the exclusive property of an abundant environment. You cannot think of experiencing richness in an environment riddled with lack. Being surrounded by abundance all the time makes you to take it for granted and not feeling abundant any more. Beyond that, the perceived lack gets magnified, which results in the abundance of lack.
The behavior of the human mind is funny. Somehow it seems to love experiencing lack. It is fond of finding and experiencing lack even amidst total abundance. There is an issue associated with lack which you should know in clear terms. Even feeling imaginary lack leads to fear of insufficiency. Fear leads to hoarding everything. And, hoarding results in misuse of the environment itself.
You need unambiguous confirmations for ascertaining your richness. What you are missing is the meaningful measurements to confirm your richness. It is time to come up with reasonable measures to assess your own personalized richness. It will require you to get a detailed understanding about a myriad number of items involved in determining what true richness means.
Closely associated issue with richness is success. The definition of the word success varies from one person to the other and depends on the situation. Unfortunately, everyone tries to follow a single formula to achieve the goal in a world designed for experiencing variety. Accumulate everything which is accessible and establish ownership control. That is because success is recognized by accumulated tangible material riches. All of those things are materials existing in some form. Everything is measured by attaching an imaginary value, I mean, a value which does not have a firm basis. That is the reality.
Being rich and becoming rich are mutually exclusive and valid human aspirations and there is a big difference between these two aspirations despite their wording looking similar.
How the wealth was acquired always makes an interesting story which everyone considers as worthy of following irrespective of moral, legal and ethical issues involved. You can follow that kind of story, if your goal is becoming rich. There is no point in following that kind of story, if you are going after being rich.
The Exact Way Of Being Rich is about exploring a path to uncover the right measures for being happy and remaining there irrespective of what happens in the life.

Ivan Jablonka’s History Is a Contemporary Literature offers highly innovative perspectives on the writing of history, the relationship between literature and the social sciences, and the way that both social-scientific inquiry and literary explorations contribute to our understanding of the world. Jablonka argues that the act and art of writing, far from being an afterthought in the social sciences, should play a vital role in the production of knowledge in all stages of the researcher’s work and embody or even constitute the understanding obtained. History (along with sociology and anthropology) can, he contends, achieve both greater rigor and wider audiences by creating a literary experience through a broad spectrum of narrative modes.Challenging scholars to adopt investigative, testimonial, and other experimental writing techniques as a way of creating and sharing knowledge, Jablonka envisions a social science literature that will inspire readers to become actively engaged in understanding their own pasts and to relate their histories to the present day. Lamenting the specialization that has isolated the academy from the rest of society, History Is a Contemporary Literature aims to bring imagination and audacity into the practice of scholarship, drawing on the techniques of literature to strengthen the methods of the social sciences.
