Summary

Henry David Thoreau was born on July 12th, 1817 on Virginia Road in Concord, Massachusetts. Thoreau studied at Harvard between 1833 and 1837 taking classes in rhetoric, classics, philosophy, mathematics, and science. On graduating the normal professions left him unmoved and, after a period teaching at his own school, a growing friendship with Ralph Waldo Emerson moved his career onto that of writer and observer of nature. Thoreau was a philosopher of nature and how it affected the human condition. He was deeply influenced by Nature and especially the Walden woods. Eventually his published writings were to celebrate this area and his own philosophies. A noted Abolitionist Thoreau was a man to stand by his principles regardless of the minority view he might be holding. Tragically his life and career were short. In 1859, following a late-night excursion to count the rings of tree stumps during a rain storm, he fell ill with bronchitis. His health now fell into an irreversible decline with only short periods of remission. Thoreau spent his last years revising and editing his unpublished works. In the decades that followed he would be regarded as one of America’s greatest writers. Henry David Thoreau died on May 6th, 1862 at the tragically early age of just 44.

Cancer is a slowly developing illness. In the early stage it is, barring a few notable exceptions, not fatal.
Addressed to the layman, the reader learns why and under what conditions cancer is curable – in the stage of early cancer, also called carcinoma in situ. The emphasis lies on making the physician the patient's ally, in order to catch cancer at its very earliest stages, in which it can most definitely be cured.
Treat your body as well as you treat your car. Regular “service” conducted by your physician according to Redtenbacher's manual will save you from dying of cancer.
It is totally up to you that you do everything within your power to detect “Gastric Cancer” at the very beginning, when it is absolutely curable.

A comprehensive history of three British railway lines,“nicely illustrated [and] impressively informative” (Midwest Book Review).   This is the history of the Great Eastern Railway’s lines from Shenfield to Southend, Wickford to Southminster, and Woodham Ferrers to Maldon, including their ancestor. It is the only comprehensive history of all three lines and was researched using both previously published and unpublished material. The history covers not only the history of the lines in question but also a sample of services from the opening of them to the present day, the motive power that was and is used on them, and a topographical description of them.   The book is ideal not only for railway enthusiasts but for those interested in the local history of the area served by the Great Eastern Railway.

Bitcoin really is a new kind of currency. It exists purely on the Web as a free computer network. Anyone with Internet access can send and receive money as quickly as an e-mail would send. We are seeing the beginning of a new world of finance with this new form of digital cash. This book is a 7-chaptered edifice to help broaden your horizon about the world’s greatest cryptocurrency.
In January 2009, Bitcoin was launched just a few months after the 2008 financial crisis. Anyone in the world has access to bitcoin as a genuine peer-to-peer currency, with the ability to send it to anyone else. The development guarantees that no one can lock or withdraw their funds. This ubiquitous currency's results are quite remarkable. We've seen the price increase in currency from less than one US cent to more than one thousand dollars.
Bitcoin has been challenging the mainstream view of finance since its launch. Bitcoin's limited supply and resistance to manipulation, originally designed as Digital Gold, has culminated in an explosion of new ideas and projects with the clear potential to disrupt major industries and forever change finance.
Bitcoin’s mysterious founder, Satoshi Nakamoto, is known only through his contributions, namely the whitepaper of Bitcoin and his initial forum posts to help core developers to support and preserve source code. While no one can confirm his identity, his work's value is evident in the fact that the source code of Bitcoin has been tested and challenged without reported serious bugs or exploits. This is really an incredible feat.
No single group of people, including governments, banks, and companies, regulate Bitcoin as all peers are equal participants, participating through the same protocol. The monetary policy is determined by its open computer network and is self-regulated. Therefore, we see the emergence of a new cycle of money with Bitcoin.

How do elephants drink? What is the Law of the Jungle at the water hole? How does an elephant baby learn to feed and learn to swim? How do they walk under water? In what order do buffaloes drink? How do buffaloes fight the tiger? These and other wild inhabitants of the Indian jungle such as pigs, wild dogs, deer, camels, bears and birds are discussed in lively stories to entertain but mainly educate children of school age. "One of the great thinkers of the world has said that all the sciences are embodied in natural history. Hence natural history should be taught to a child from an early age. Perhaps the best method of teaching it is to set forth the characteristics of animals in the form of a narrative. Then the child reads the narrative with pleasure and almost as a story, not as a tedious "lesson." In this book the animals are described in their daily life, and the main scientific facts and principles concerning each animal are woven into the narrative as a part of that daily life." (Summary by Phil Chenevert and from the Preface)
