Dracula author Bram Stoker was born on November 8, 1847 in Dublin. Stoker was bedridden with an unknown illness until he started school at the age of seven when he made a complete recovery. Of this time, Stoker wrote, "I was naturally thoughtful, and the leisure of long illness gave opportunity for many thoughts which were fruitful according to their kind in later years." He was educated in a private school run by the Reverend William Woods.Stoker visited the English coastal town of Whitby in 1890, and that visit was said to be part of the inspiration for Dracula. He began writing novels while working as the manager for London's Lyceum Theatre, beginning with The Snake's Pass in 1890 and Dracula in 1897. Stoker was part of the literary staff of The Daily Telegraph in London, and he wrote other fiction, including the horror novels The Lady of the Shroud (1909) and The Lair of the White Worm (1911).Dracula is an epistolary novel, written as a collection of realistic but completely fictional diary entries, telegrams, letters, ship's logs, and newspaper clippings, all of which added a level of detailed realism to the story, a skill which Stoker had developed as a newspaper writer. At the time of its publication, Dracula was considered a "straightforward horror novel" based on imaginary creations of supernatural life. "It gave form to a universal fantasy and became a part of popular culture." Here then is the dark Lord Dracula!Produced by Macc KayProduction executive Avalon GiulianoICON Intern Eden Garret Giuliano©2021 Eden Garret Giuliano (P) 2021 Eden Garret GiulianoGeoffrey Giuliano is the author of over thirty internationally bestselling biographies, including the London Sunday Times bestseller 'Blackbird: The Life and Times of Paul McCartney' and 'Dark Horse: The Private Life of George Harrison'. Including works by members of the original Lovecraft Circle: Robert Bloch, Robert E. Howard, Frank Belknap Long, and Clark Ashton Smith.
In the depths of human imagination lies a realm in which ancient gods stir in their slumbers, where forbidden knowledge teeters on the edge of consciousness, and where cosmic horror threatens to cast its suffocating veil over reality. This is the world of the Cthulhu Mythos, the creation of one of the most enigmatic and influential writers of the 20th century, H. P. Lovecraft.
Opening with an introduction to the Great Old One himself in The Call of Cthulhu, we’ll explore the works of those who contributed their own tales to the mythos, expanding and enriching it with their unique perspectives and distinctive voices.
We'll encounter unimaginable entities such as Azathoth and Hastur—those uncanny beings whose mere existence defies comprehension. And we'll meet the intrepid human beings who dared to seek out forbidden knowledge, often to their peril, coming up against the boundaries of human understanding and the terrifying implications of cosmic insignificance.
Prepare to be drawn into a world where reality is but a fragile mask—where the unknown lurks just beneath the surface. Steel yourself for a voyage that examines the unfathomable, the unimaginable, the inescapable. What became of those who answered The Call of the Old Ones?

    IT HAS SURVIVED
At a research station in Antarctica, scientists discovered a strange and ancient organism.
They thought they could study it, classify it, control it. They couldn't.
    IT HAS THRIVED
Six months ago, a secret paramilitary team called Unit 51 was sent to the station.
They thought the creature was dead, the nightmare was over. It wasn't.
    IT HAS EVOLVED
In a Mexican temple, archaeologists uncover the remains of a half-human hybrid. They believe it is related to the creature in Antarctica, a dark thing of legend that is still alive—and still evolving. They believe it needs a new host to feed, to mutate, to multiply. They're right. And they're next. And the human race might just be headed for extinction . . .
