Summary

From Lake Constance in Germany, this guidebook describes walking the E5 trek that runs 600km in 30 days through a remarkable kaleidoscope of landscapes and culture in Switzerland, Austria and Italy, to its destination at Verona. It traverses the Allgauer, Lechtaler and Ötztaler Alps. Passes as high as 2900m above sea level are crossed en route to the northern Italian city of Bolzano. Gentler gradients follow as the E5 bears south parallel to the mighty Adige river through the Lagorai, Pasubio and Lessini groups finally arriving at Verona, romantic city par excellence. A well-organised network of alpine refuges and cosy guesthouses welcome walkers along the route, and convenient transport links make it possible to join or leave the trek at virtually every stage to fit in with individual holiday needs. The route, which can easily be split into smaller stages, also visits spectacular geological sites and First World War remains.

The Olympics Salt Lake City, 2002, men's ice hockey gold medal: Canada!" —Bob Cole, CBC play-by-play broadcasterThere was no iconic Paul Henderson moment, nor a Sidney Crosby golden goal, but Canada's 5-2 victory against the rival United States in the men's 2002 Olympic gold medal game wiped out fifty years of frustration for the nation that invented ice hockey.Canadians from coast to coast were whipped into a frenzy, with impromptu celebrations on streets like Granville in Vancouver, Yonge in Toronto, Ste-Catherine in Montreal, and Portage and Main in Winnipeg.Gold is the definitive chronicle of how the men of Team Canada made history. Marking twenty years since the momentous victory, Tim Wharnsby delivers the inside story of how Gretzky built the team and Pat Quinn got them to the gold medal, featuring exclusive interviews with players, coaches, and personnel.

Over 15 years ago, Jane Savoie wrote the first book to recognize the importance of training the mind and shaping attitude in order to achieve higher levels of riding skill than ever imagined. Riders who benefited from the lessons in That Winning Feeling! clamored for more, and Savoie responded with her fabulous follow-up book, It's Not Just About the Ribbons.Once again, Savoie shares the tools and ideas for self-improvement that she has used, not only to help herself deal with challenges, but her students—who range from Olympic contenders to intermediate riders—as well. Full of shining examples of the success of Savoie's methods of dealing with riding's—and life's—challenges, this book is essential for anyone who is passionate about horses but may be struggling, at some level or other, with negative emotions and frustration from slow development of riding skills. All readers will find that, with Savoie's contagious enthusiasm along for the ride, they too can make changes more easily and playfully while better enjoying every moment with their horses.

Rather, each of these factors can be trained independently in the gym and on the court, allowing us to improve our vertical jump height, ensuring we can dunk with ease – irrespective of either our age or our height! In the following book you will find:- Successfully implemented methods of strength training that will build the foundation for your dunking ability- Power training methods to improve your muscular power- Jump training methods to rapidly increase your vertical jump and dunking capacity- Information pertaining to jump technique and dunking performance that have been honed through decades of work- Dietary information to ensure you get the most out of your trainingThis book is essentially the written culmination of my many years working with basketball athletes. The results of this learning experience, and the processes I have used extensively to maximize athletic performance are summarized in this book, ready for you to apply immediately into your own training. This has further been summarized in a thorough 8-week training program – involving strength training methods, power training methods, and jump performance training techniques – that will lead you to a massive vertical jump, and some crazy dunking ability. While I can provide the HOW, you need to provide the DO, so don’t keep waiting – become an absolute beast on the court and take the first step to improve your dunking ability today!
