Sinopse

It's December. The world is dark and cold. The office party sucks. The job sucks. Everything sucks except for one thing ... maybe she's the one. Or at least, the one for this particularly strange snowy season.

Naughty and Nice is an F/F holiday romance collection where the bounds of what is nice is stretched and pushed until, maybe, it is better to be naughty after all. Each story contains a strong female protagonist who longs for something beyond the twinkling lights or red Santa suits this holiday season.
Will she find whatever her heart desires at an office party? Working nights at a clean-up crew? Or grading final papers? If she does, it's because she was lucky enough to not make Santa's list after all.
Contains the stories A New Christmas Carol, Crows for Christmas, Gift Wrapped, and Red Suits and Second Chances.
Disponível desde: 07/12/2024.
Comprimento de impressão: 80 páginas.

He was a romantic and a realist, a lover of strong women and beautiful men. And though he was at one time the richest, most powerful man in the world, his most prized possession was a book -- Homer's The Iliad, annotated by his tutor, Aristotle.
Most of all, he was as much a myth as a man and a mystery ... even to himself.
When Alexander the Great died in Babylon in 323 B.C. a month shy of his 33rd birthday and after conquering and reordering Persia, he left a sprawling empire and a burning question: What drove him?
Before Alexander, culture flowed East to West. After, it would flow West to East, and we are the heirs of the continuing tension between the two.
In this historical novel, Alexander encounters the only two enemies he cannot defeat: death and time. Surrendering to both, he considers a life that attempted to bridge seemingly irreconcilable opposites -- East and West, Persians and Greeks, a brutal father and a ruthless mother, a wily wife and a male soulmate. And above all, a tempered mind and ungovernable passions.

After months of sneaking around, Captain Alyn Evans and Company rep Jarvez Kashari have gone public as a couple. Alyn wants to move in together, but Jarvez isn't ready. As the Red Dragon's trading mission begins, Jarvez worries Alyn's principles will clash with the Company's sometimes ethically dubious methods. As the Company rep aboard, he fears he'll be the one to feel the sharp edge of Alyn's disapproval and could even lose him.

Alyn's unbending sense of right and wrong leads him to give asylum to an enslaved man named Sumi, bringing threats of retribution from Sumi's owner and tension between Alyn and Jarvez. When Alyn makes Sumi his personal steward, Jarvez feels he can no longer get a moment alone with his lover.

Sumi's owner follows up on his threats and Alyn is brought before a court in a politically charged trial whose outcome already seems fixed. Kept apart from Alyn, terrified he'll go to prison, Jarvez doesn't think the situation can get any worse. Until Alyn's ex shows up. In the end, he'll be driven to beg for help from the one person who'd like to see Alyn out of Jarvez's life forever.

A lucid exploration of amnesia, selfhood, and who is left behind when the past is obliterated.

Tara Sidhoo Fraser is thirty-one years old when a rare mutation in her brain causes a stroke. Awakening after surgery with no memory of her previous life, she attempts to piece it all back together through a haze of amnesia. Yet, as memories do begin to surface, they are seen through someone else's eyes—the person whose body she stole, whom she calls Ghost.

Fighting to stabilize her existence, Tara struggles with the gulf between who she was and who she is now, while constantly battling and paying penance to Ghost. She meets Jude, who is also contending with their identity, the gap between who they are and who they present to the world. As Jude's transition progresses and they begin testosterone injections, Tara's conflict with Ghost heightens. Ghost's voice becomes stronger, and memories of hospital visits, old desires, and her ex threaten Tara's new relationship.

She burrows deeper into the mystery of who she once was, recognizing the need to fuse herself and Ghost into one. When My Ghost Sings is a lyrical memoir of healing, a farewell letter, and an embracing/reclamation of selfhood.
