Beschreibung

The planet Zaffre is known for two things: blue sand deserts and the fact it's number one in robots mechanics and AI software development. Eastyn Ptolemy, a human worker from Earth, patrols Zaffre's main loading docks during his night shifts. Ever since coming to Zaffre with his sister Genna, his life has been easier, but also far too quiet.
To break up the monotony on one of his shifts, Eastyn listens to the local radio station where DJ Milo does all-night requests. After many late nights spent with Milo on the phone, Eastyn realizes he is actually Milo Struthers, former guitarist and backing vocalist of the band Lightning Years. Only now, after a bad accident, Milo has been reduced to a sophisticated AI that runs the radio station, struggling for a proper body and autonomy.

Student of letters, Micah Yardley wants one thing: to meet the poet Jefferson Dering. After hearing his idol speak at Harvard, Micah travels to Jefferson's home in nearby Wroxham, entertaining visions of discussing poetry over dinner and drinks. What he experiences exceeds anything he ever anticipated.
Jefferson finds Micah mesmerizing and passionate, everything he has ever wanted. But after getting caught in a compromising position with another young man a decade earlier, he exiled himself from Boston and from affairs of the heart. Jefferson represses his longing for Micah, but his tumultuous emotions cannot be contained.
Micah denies the truth of his desire for Jefferson. Jefferson refuses to act on his passion for Micah. But all it takes is a single kiss in Wroxham's haunted church to change the course of their lives ... and ignite the flame that could fulfill a generations-old promise.

When Leo Wayland accepts a job as head of the new horror unit at Maiden Studios, he knows what is expected. Make cheap movies that earn their money back fast. It doesn't matter that he dislikes horror. He just needs to escape his assistant director's position at a rival studio.

But he didn't expect to be assigned a terrible title and a leading man, all before he even had a script, or that his leading man would be Everett Reid, the actor who rejected a very young Leo's advances, only to disappear from movies altogether a few years later in a cloud of scandal.

Everett Reid will do anything for a chance to get back the career he lost and away from teaching at a theater camp for children. And if it means working with Leo Wayland again, he can do that too. Especially now that Leo is all grown up and not so untouchable.

With only three weeks, a flamboyant stage actor, twelve scantily clad women, and a sound stage full of coffins may not seem like the makings of something great. But really, that all depends on what you are hoping for.

Hunger is a funny thing. It makes people act in ways they never believed they would.
Gareth Cadell always believed he'd be a winner if society ever collapsed. He's big and strong, and he knows how to handle himself. He never considered the food issue, though. When things get too dangerous in the city, he leaves, but he hadn't realized how quickly starvation would set in. Which is why, when he comes across Kegan, he can't allow him to keep all his food for himself.
Hunger is a dangerous thing. It turns good people into unpredictable ones.
Kegan Ashida never believed he'd live this long after the collapse. He's nothing special. He's capable of killing if he has to, but he's more likely to take care of someone than to harm them. It doesn't mean he's willing to surrender. He's worked hard to build up his pantry, and he won't allow anyone to steal his food.
Gareth doesn't want to hurt Kegan. It's not his fault Gareth is hungry, and if he's being honest, he'd rather kiss him than harm him. Maybe bribing his way into Kegan's home and heart is the better way?
