** Guardian Politics Book of the Day**

For over a hundred years, the British Labour Party has been a bastion for working class organisation and struggle. However, has it ever truly been on the side of the workers? Where do its interests really lie? And can we rely on it to provide a barrier against right-wing forces? By looking into its history, this book shines a light on the internal dynamics of the 'party with socialists in it'.

From its origins in the late nineteenth century, the Labour Party was uncomfortably divided between a metropolitan liberal and a working class milieu, which characterises the party to this very day. This history guides us through the Bevanite movement and the celebrated government of Clement Attlee, to the emergence of a New Left that was highly sceptical of the Labour party during the Wilson era. It explores the move towards Blairism and the disheartening story of the decline of the Labour Left after their historic defeat in the 1980s.

With the emergence of socialist leader Jeremy Corbyn, the Labour Party's fate rests in the balance. Will they reconcile their internal divisions or split into obscurity?

Ah, the art of writing. The beauty of putting words to paper (or screen) and then publishing the words for the world to see and appreciate. There’s something romantic about this, isn’t there? And if you read on the web, and blogs, and listen to podcasts and watch youtube videos, you’re told you can do it all for free! For free?!? Sign me up…Well, let’s do a quick reality check. You can do it for free. Yup, you can. There’s a number of free tools out there making it possible to write, edit, format, create graphics, and publish for free. But you know what? Free can be very painful. I know. I’ve tried free. Then I bought an app. Then another app. And then I was able to focus on writing more, which is the point, right? Go ahead and answer out loud. The correct answer is: Right! Instead of going through the pains and recreating the wheel, why not learn from my struggles and mistakes? Is my way better than the other info you can find on the worldwide everything? Probably not. But, I can tell you how I’m doing it. How I’m writing my third book in a series and have written and published books beyond that. My way is exactly that; my way. I’m offering it to you as you develop YOUR WAY of writing and producing books to publish to the masses. I’ll throw in a few links here and there to give you some one-click access to decide if the applications are worth it to you. I’m not going to explain how to use the applications, I’m mostly going to go over the “why” I use them in my process over other paid and free methods. I hope these ideas and workflows are helpful as you develop your own methods and arsenal to get your good writing out there. Good luck!

Managing your lifecycle in business is the same as flying an aircraft. You initially add some fuel before starting up, you fuel the business with revenue and capital induction as you ascend, you fly along your intended course, and ultimately you bring it in for a safe landing as you exit with a handful of cash. Sounds simple, though the vast majority of businesses fail somewhere along their flight path and face an emergency off-airport landing or worse. The question is, why does this happen to so many small to mid-sized business owners? The reason is simply pilot error, just like in flying. Through a series of distractions, adverse conditions, or fuel starvation, we find ourselves with red indicators. The real problem is a pure lack of experience and formal training. This handbook will assist you in navigating your small to mid-sized business through key employee identification, succession planning, and ultimately value extraction. By using this handbook as a guide to running your business, you will have an appreciation for the need to run your business with an exit strategy in mind. In the end, there are only two options: Succession or Failure.
