Summary

The fierce healer and guardian Reisil journeys with her goshawk to a realm of dark sorcery in the final battle of an epic fantasy trilogy.   Guardian priestess Reisil of the ahalad-kaaslane thought she had destroyed the stronghold of the Patverseme wizards, whose dark sorcery is wreaking havoc on all realms—but they were not so easily defeated. The plague decimating the population of Kodu Riik in Path of Honor continues with increasing destruction. Meanwhile, armies of the power-mongering Aare go on a murderous rampage in an attempt to usurp the throne. In doing so, they pit family members against one another, and sorcerers against the ahalad-kaaslane.   In order to save her people from the worst of all fates—obliteration—Reisil must outsmart the unrelenting wizards and render them powerless. Key to her success will be deciphering the mysterious wizard runes and, in turn, healing an ever-widening rift between two worlds.   Accompanied by her telepathic goshawk, Saljane, and her loyal lover, Yohuac, Reisil travels across a war-ravaged land and into an alternate realm. Only there can this strong heroine ascertain the form of magic needed to solve the problems that threaten existence as she knows it. Will Reisil choose the right path despite impossible odds and crippling self-doubt or will her destructive impulses and the dark will of the gods have irreversible consequences?   An intimate story of a strong female character and her profound bond with her animal companion—as well as a gripping saga of good versus evil—Path of Blood is a thrilling conclusion to acclaimed author Diana Pharaoh Francis’s epic fantasy trilogy.

    The #1 Bestselling series!

RISE OF THE VALIANT is book #2 in Morgan Rice’s bestselling epic fantasy series KINGS AND SORCERERS (which begins with RISE OF THE DRAGONS, a free download)!

In the wake of the dragon’s attack, Kyra is sent on an urgent quest: to cross Escalon and seek out her uncle in the mysterious Tower of Ur. The time has come for her to learn about who she is, who her mother is, and to train and develop her special powers. It will be a quest fraught with peril for a girl alone, Escalon filled with dangers from savage beasts and men alike—one that will require all of her strength to survive.

Her father, Duncan, must lead his men south, to the great water city of Esephus, to attempt to free his fellow countrymen from the iron grip of Pandesia. If he succeeds, he will have to journey to the treacherous Lake of Ire and then onto the icy peaks of Kos, where there live the toughest warriors of Escalon, men he will need to recruit if he has any chance of taking the capital.

Alec escapes with Marco from The Flames to find himself on the run through the Wood of Thorns, chased by exotic beasts. It is a harrowing journey through the night as he quests for his hometown, hoping to be reunited with his family. When he arrives, he is shocked by what he discovers.

Merk, despite his better judgment, turns back to help the girl, and finds himself, for the first time in his life, entangled in a stranger’s affairs. He will not forego his pilgrimage to the Tower of Ur, though, and he finds himself anguished as he realizes the tower is not what he expects.

Vesuvius spurs his giant as he leads the Trolls on their mission underground, attempting to bypass The Flames, while the dragon, Theos, has his own special mission on Escalon.

With its strong atmosphere and complex characters, RISE OF THE VALIANT is a sweeping saga of knights and warriors, of kings and lords, of honor and valor, of magic, destiny, monsters and dragons. It is a story of love and broken hearts, of deception, ambition and betrayal. It is fantasy at its finest, inviting us into a world that will live with us forever, one that will appeal to all ages and genders.

Book #3 in KINGS AND SORCERERS will be published soon.

“If you thought that there was no reason left for living after the end of the Sorcerer’s Ring series, you were wrong. An elegant and far-ranging novel exploring the nature of life, death, and humanity Josepha is more than three hundred years old, but she doesn’t look a day over twenty-two. When she was fourteen, she wanted to die, but an overdose of pills was not enough to kill her. Soon after that came the Transition—the great breakthrough that offered extended life to all humanity—and so for three centuries, death has been denied her. There are those who flee from immortality to death cults, taking refuge in seppuku—starvation—or ritual duels, but Josepha is about to become the mother of the children who will change humankind.   In this sweeping novel, hailed as “a major intellectual achievement . . . a landmark” by noted science fiction writer and reviewer Algis Budrys, Pamela Sargent explores the vast changes immortality might bring to those compelled by older instincts as they struggle to master the technology that could offer them an escape from humanity’s dark past.

The creator of Gor delivers a wide-ranging story collection, all previously unpublished, with a handful of directly Gor-related pieces and several more stories that involve Gor-like female slavery and submission. Many of the stories are philosophical monologues which play with existential and phenomenal ideas by discussing their philosophical underpinnings and their relation to the real world as observed with a philosophical mind-set. They are often without dialogue or even characters, merely thoughts, descriptions and speculations. Some could almost be lectures given narrative form. Some stories are SF, some are horror, some have “mainstream” settings. Among the characters in the various stories are a couple of talking frogs, a couple of independently-thinking computers, a fair number of philosophers and a number of clinical psychologists or psychiatrists, often analyzing or counseling computers or intelligent alien lifeforms.

Cabot and his friend Marcus, of Ar’s Station, who have been spying for Ar in the Cosian encampments, now seek the long-inert forces of Ar to report acquired intelligence to their commander, Saphronicus, who proves to be of the treasonous party of Ar. Cabot and Marcus are placed under arrest, as spies. Primary forces of Ar, largely inactive in recent months, are now to pursue Cosian forces withdrawing from Ar’s Station, through the vast Vosk delta to the sea. The Cosian forces, however, have avoided the delta, and the delta campaign is a ruse to decimate the armed might of Ar, to use as a weapon the marshes and swamps of the delta itself, their treacherous, trackless wildernesses and wastes, the quicksand, the insects, the serpents and reptiles, the local populations, to deliver a final decisive blow to what was once the unchallenged splendor and power of Gor’s finest infantry.   Rediscover this brilliantly imagined world where men are masters and women live to serve their every desire.  Vagabonds of Gor is the 24th book in the Gorean Saga, but you may enjoy reading the series in any order.
