Summary

Millions of basketball players outside the United States dream of one day playing in the NBA. Thousands of those youngsters make their way onto the radars of NBA scouts patrolling the globe on the lookout for the next Drazen Petrovic, Arvydas Sabonis, Pau Gasol, Tony Parker, Dirk Nowitzki or Giannis Antetokounmpo.
Those talent observers criss-cross Europe and the rest of the world and watch prospects playing at both club and national team competitions - and that both at the youth and senior levels.
"Draft Dreams In The Making" is a compilation of articles written by David Hein about many of the international players who have shined at one or more of those competitions and have either declared themselves for the 2020 NBA Draft or are automatically eligible - those 1998-born players.
The articles in this book were published on the websites for the events where the players were competing - be it FIBA, Euroleague Basketball and Basketball Champions League events.
Not all international players who are in the 2020 draft pool are included in this book - solely those about whom an article was written.
Hopefuly you enjoy this book as much as the author did writing the articles in it.

The story of the integration of professional football--the year before Jackie Robinson did the same for baseball--has been overlooked for too long.

Many know the story of Jackie Robinson integrating major league baseball in 1947. But few know that the NFL integrated a year earlier, when Kenny Washington stepped on the field for the Los Angeles Rams.
He wasn't the only one. Four men broke pro football's color line in 1946, Kenny Washington and Woody Strode with the Los Angeles Rams and Bill Willis and Marion Motley with the Cleveland Browns.
Lost Champions traces this history from the early 1930s--when NFL owners first instituted a ban on black players--through pro football's re-integration, to the 1950 NFL Championship Game, which pitted the Rams and Browns against each other in a showdown of the most prolific and advanced offenses pro football had ever seen.
But the battle wasn't just waged on the gridiron. Lost Champions shows how efforts to integrate sports sits within the often-ignored history of the civil rights movement in the 1940s. The four players faced animosity and death threats for their role in integration while they and all black Americans were threatened in 1946 by a spike in lynchings, threat of legal expulsion from their own homes, and segregation all the way down to the simple act of going to an amusement park for a bit of relaxation.
Finally, Lost Champions explains why these men and their stories have for so long languished in the shadow of Jackie Robinson, and why they too deserve widespread acclaim for integrating what is arguably the most popular sport in America.

You can utilize this simple, proven technique to regain the lost comforts of joy, love, and fulfillment in your life.God's gift of life is too short to be exhausted on thousands of everyday anxieties and fears. Sadly, the average person will get to the end of their life and realize that more than half of it was spent struggling with these kinds of problems. Because they didn't know what to do, many of these people never found any satisfaction in life. You can and will become bigger than those struggles by enhancing the positive energy that God already has flowing within you.You are exactly who you think you are, and it's up to you to create those thoughts and manifest them as God's creation. No more lack of faith, motivation, and feelings of doubt in your life. No person can find happiness in an environment beyond his or her control. But you can get up, get out, and take control with God.Prayer starts by creating a cycle of continuous prayers. You must believe and repeat these declarations and prayers each day. If the thoughts and ideas that we affirm are not true in reality, a dynamic tension is created between your perceived reality and your psyche. This presence of dynamic tension causes imbalance between your psyche and perceived reality. Your consciousness will work to get back in tune with the God's vision of the universe to resolve the tension. There are two simple ways to ease this tension. You must work with God's creation in order to make your declarations become true, or you must stop the prayer. As you choose to continue praying, your mind and body will seek to balance this inequality with the universe by transforming your environment to match your declarations of truth. Sooner than later, you will find yourself taking positive and decisive action that you never imagined possible as your perceptions naturally align with your true reality.By utilizing prayer you are training your consciousness to work in tandem with the God's natural flow of creative energy. This is how we are naturally designed to function as happy, healthy beings. Unfortunately, the complexity man's modern world has made it more difficult to find the natural creative harmony that God placed inside of each of us. Negative thinking goes against God's intended order of the universe and will unravel along with those who produce it. We are all meant to be bottomless vessels full of God's refreshing life and energy. Through prayer you will learn to be constantly over-filled with energy from God that soaks into the world and the people around you.If you want to see positive change now, you'll find the quickest path to fulfillment with prayer through God's love. Sunday Times Sports Book of the Year 2015

Sometimes you love a football team not only for their strengths, the splendour of their play and the appealing thrust of their character, but also the haunting possibility that their best hopes may never be fulfilled. This has rarely been demonstrated so vividly as by the Manchester City team who briefly, but unforgettably, illuminated the late sixties. And no one was more caught up in their struggles and their triumphs than James Lawton, a young sportswriter starting out on a career that would take him to all the great events of world sport. Yet still, 50 years after Joe Mercer and Malcolm Allison began to shape the brilliant team, he counts watching their rise to glory as one of the most exciting times of his professional life.

Francis Lee, Colin Bell, Mike Summerbee - these players loomed large over the game as they charged at the peaks of English football, and today evoke a period of the sport's history that seems distant and unknowable, hard to see except through the rose-tinted gloss of nostalgia.

Lawton goes back to those heroes, interviewing all the main players and characters who are still alive, and vividly brings to life the story of that City team which with such wonderful panache, and freedom, won the first division title, the FA Cup, the League Cup and the European Cup Winners Cup between 1967 and 1970.

This, though, is not just the story of one team, but a broader one of how sport can sometimes so perfectly mirror the exaltation and the despair of the real world, how it carries those who do it, and sometimes even those who merely see it, to moments that will claim a permanent place in their hearts.
