This book is about a little girl named Alexia, who's is crying because her mommy dropped her off at daycare, and like many other children being left with a caregiver; such as baby sitters, grandparents or a daycares, they sometimes display feelings of anxiety, not undersanding why they are being left or why they cannot go with their parents.
The daycare provider, who the children affectionally call "Auntie Darlene", comes up with a clever way to comfort and provides answers to the children as to why "Mommies and Daddies Go To Work".
During their regularly scheduled lesson time, Auntie Darlene discusses with the children, how their parents provide for them, while allowing the children to actively partcipate in the discussion, it promotes healthy social and emotional development

A thrilling, unputdownable debut, with extraordinary twists and incredible action, from an incredible new voice in children's fiction.
    I can steal time.
The most I can take at the moment is fifteen seconds, which is not a lot. Grandmother took almost three minutes once and she told me she's done more, but I never saw it.
She says there are stories of someone who can take all the time in the world, but how can that be right?
When Alex and his father are forced to flee their home to escape a brutal government, they begin a life-threatening journey across Europe. But when they are separated before they can reach Britain, Alex finds himself alone, with only his extraordinary gift to keep him alive.

Perfect for fans of Alex Rider, Artemis Fowl, and Inception, Running out of Time is an ingenious, high-concept thriller with a twist that you won't believe.

This heartwarming story of a buffalo soldier’s service to his country during the Indian Wars and Spanish-American War reveals the many hardships these regiments faced. The African-American buffalo soldiers, nicknamed by the Cheyenne Indians because of their curly hair and bravery, joined the six black regiments commissioned by an act of Congress in 1866. These men, many of whom were former slaves, enlisted in the army to earn a steady income, acquire an education, and gain respect. They protected settlers from hostile Indians, rustlers, outlaws, and bandits and were known for their courage and dedication. Told through the soldier-narrator’s voice, the details of one buffalo soldier’s life, including what he ate, where he slept, the education he gained on and off the battlefield, and how he spent his hard-earned money, help create a personal and understandable slice of history
