Summary

Charlotte Carruthers must find her brother. Joshua Robertson needs the funds to free his. On the road into the Canadian wilderness, they become reluctant allies in a race to save their siblings before brewing rebellion tears the colony apart.
Canada, 1837. Charlotte is determined to hold onto her family's crumbling estate—the last vestige of their former place in Toronto society before her mother's death and her father's financial ruin. But when her missing brother Simon is suspected of aiding a political rebellion, Charlotte heads north to find him before his impulsive decisions ruin what's left of their family's standing and break her ailing father's heart.
Joshua has worked tirelessly to carve a home from the wilderness for the younger brother he was forced to leave behind, only to learn his first harvest is nearly worthless and his brother has been sold into an indenture Joshua can't afford to redeem. When a stranger offers him work tracking down a settler in the bush, he's desperate enough to agree.
Nothing has prepared Charlotte for the challenges of surviving the wilderness. When Joshua comes to her aid, she offers to pay him for guidance through the bush. Though he knows a spoiled city girl will slow him down, he can't refuse the money. As Charlotte and Joshua face the dangers of travel through rough terrain, admiration and friendship grow, even as class divides and hidden truths complicate their bond. But when they are caught in the crossfire of rebellion, they must decide if the futures they've fought for are truly their hearts' desire—or if something unexpected awaits.

Amelia had always been known for her compassionate nature. From a young age, she exhibited a deep empathy towards all living beings, whether they were human or animals. Her friends often marvelled at how she could sense the emotions of others and offer comfort in times of need. It was as if her heart had an innate ability to connect with the pain and joy that surrounded her.
Living in a small village nestled near the edge of a vast, enchanted forest, Amelia found herself in a world where nature's beauty was both her playground and her solace. The village was known for its close-knit community, where everyone looked out for one another. Amelia's compassion naturally found a home here, as she often volunteered to help the elderly, tended to injured birds, and offered a listening ear to those who sought her out.
One cool autumn day, as the leaves began to change their colours and the air carried a hint of impending winter, Amelia decided to take a solitary walk into the heart of the enchanting forest. She had always felt a deep connection to the wild, untouched parts of nature, where she could hear the whispers of the trees and feel the heartbeat of the earth beneath her feet.

"Get out of my room. I'm your stepsister," I muttered, quickly hiding my naked breasts.

"You only remember it around me?" he hissed, his silver eyes narrowing into my face.

"I saw you with your other stepbrother," he added.

"I didn't do anything with him either," I hissed.

"Really? He didn't paint you naked?" As soon as he said that, I realized he had seen us together.

"If you are going to let him touch you, then I should be allowed too," he stepped closer, "after all, I am not only your stepbrother but your mate too."

I wish I could tell him that I have felt the mate bond with all my stepbrothers, and I was worried about what would be the end of us if anyone found out about this forbidden bond.

    ...

Nora had lived a rather dull life until bullying in school escalated, and her stepfather made a decision to take her home and introduce her to her Alpha Stepbrothers. What started as her desire to have a family that loves her turned sinister when, one by one, she felt the mate bond with her stepbrothers. Now it was up to her to decide whether she wants a family or mates. However, she soon realized that her hot, rude stepbrothers had been trying to tame her all this time.
