Summary

Seever Kerns has spent the last fifty plus years as his best friend's subordinate, even though his lion is far more powerful. When he meets Reese Nelson, he realizes the human is his mate and thinks Fate is rewarding his patience. Unfortunately, even though Seever can scent that Reese is attracted to him, the human resists, hiding behind a belligerent façade. Trouble with a rogue shifter soon interrupts his attempts to woo his standoffish mate, and Seever makes a grave mistake. He had assumed that Reese—who was there visiting his cousin, Rocky, a human bonded to a shifter—was aware of shifters and the paranormal world. Reese freaks out, refusing to believe what is right before his eyes. Even Rocky's influence does little to calm him. Can Seever convince Reese that they belong together, or will Reese cut his losses and flee, which would put his human in even more danger?

A man whom all men fear…

General Dieter von Adolwulf has led the Scarlet Army of Kria to victory for the past decade, holding the bitterly contested, blood-soaked territory known as the Regenbogen against Kria's hated enemies—the deceptive Illussor and the ruthless Salharans.  War has waged between the three nations for longer than anyone can remember, but no one has held the Regenbogen longer than the notorious Wolf of Kria and his fearsome army.

    A man who fears nothing…

Returning home at the end of the year, the Scarlet Army is attacked in the dead of night by a single man who manages to kill hundreds before he is finally captured.  A Salharan soldier with no name, no purpose but to kill, he refuses to bend to the Wolf who takes him prisoner and forces upon him a despicable Krian name.

A man with nothing to lose…

When the rest of the Scarlet Army is slaughtered by Illussor soldiers desperately seeking their Salharan prisoner, Dieter determines to hold fast, no matter the cost. He wants answers, and revenge for his slaughtered comrades. But answers and revenge are hard to come by when surrounded by secrets and treachery, and the man least likely to kill him is the prisoner who most wants him dead.

Their world had been full of magic once. Cities flew in the skies, forests were alive and teeming with all kinds of phenomenal beings, and a spell could make fantasy become real. It all changed when the barrier between realms collapsed and the beings of the Abyss fell upon them.

It was impossible to defeat those dark creatures without sacrifice, and the world changed for it. In a thousand years, magic waned, races died out, and monsters started roaming the land.

Only two nations remained. The elves of the Eternal Forest and the humans of the city-state of Haven, and for most of their existence these nations had been enemies. Now, if they wanted a chance to survive, something would have to change, and the leaders of these nations knew it.

When a band of mutated monsters starts hunting the villagers bordering the Eternal Forest, King Julianus sees an opportunity to put one of his plans in motion. He sends his second daughter, third in line for the throne, to the elves to get their help to put a stop to the creatures. More than that, he sends her as a bride for princess Eliana, hoping that union would cement the peace between their peoples and ensure they could work together.

The one who won't be very pleased about it is Emma. She fled her father's court to escape an arranged marriage before, joined the army, and became a hero in time.

Julianus knows his daughter though and understands her well enough to say she will see the historical opportunity they have before them. It doesn't mean things will go as smoothly as he might want them to…

Rex Cleveland is a physician at Haven. His alpha nature is attracted to Brayden, but he knows the fox shifter needs time to recuperate from his ordeal. Besides, the half-human Rex can’t shift … and feels unworthy to mate with anyone.

As Brayden recovers, he gradually realizes that the feelings Rex stirs in him are the natural desires of an omega for his alpha. Can Rex put aside his need to protect Brayden and accept that this mating is freely chosen? And even if he does, can Brayden overcome the scars of his past?
