Songs from Two Continents is a paean on 'dualities'. Here, Europe and Asia entwine, life and death stalk each other, nationalities fuse and Good and Evil wrestle relentlessly to give meaning to existence. Like such pathfinders as N?zim Hikmet and Orhan Veli before him, Moris Farhi adheres to the ethos of Turkish folk poetry - that poetry should be the pure distillation of emotions. From carnal desire to tender love, from rapture to sorrow and from mysticism to mundanity, he endeavours to expose, in the raw, the essence of our sensibilities. Imbued with the Levantine spirit, Moris Farhi enquires into such themes with his irrepressible sensual verve and passionate intelligence - whether in maturity or in the rambunctious years of youth.

"A well-told tale of the Norse Gods… Binder’s voice swoops and soars, now angry, now gleeful and now mocking, as Loki tells these stories of the gods run amok." —Providence Journal
Odin broke into his home and kidnapped his children. Left his wife bound and gagged on the floor, where she choked and died. He had once helped them, been their friend and blood brother. In the shadow of prophecy, a family is torn asunder, leading to betrayal, torture, madness and revenge.
Told with a blend of poetry and prose, humor and horror, it offers a glimmer of understanding and compassion.
“For nearly a thousand years, the tale of Ragnarok – the Norse myth of Apocalypse – has painted Loki as a Satan-like evil. With a fast-paced blend of prose and poetry, award-winning author Mark Binder offers an epic revision of the Eddas with modern resonance.” – Duval, Between Myth, Lies, and History
“Mark Binder has a knack for blending ancient mythology with modern storytelling techniques to create a vibrant and contemporary tale.”
Mark Binder is an award-winning author and performing storyteller. LOKI RAGNAROK is a dynamic blend of prose and poetry—a brilliant and brief comic and tragic epic. This is NOT a story for children.

Best Play - Evening Standard Awards - 2023

1964: Richard Burton, the firebrand Welsh actor, newly married to movie star Elizabeth Taylor, is to play the title role in an experimental new production of Hamlet under the exacting direction of John Gielgud.
But as rehearsals progress, the collaboration between actor and director soon threatens to unravel. One of them is the most famous movie star in the world; the other, a patrician from an earlier age of theatre. The stage is set for two titans to collide.
Jack Thorne's The Motive and the Cue is a fierce, funny play which offers a glimpse into the politics of a rehearsal room and the relationship between art and celebrity. This edition was published alongside the West End transfer in 2023, following its world premiere at the National Theatre, London, earlier that year. Originally commissioned and co-produced by Neal Street Productions, it was directed by Sam Mendes, and starred Johnny Flynn as Burton, Mark Gatiss as Gielgud and Tuppence Middleton as Taylor. It was named Best Play at the Evening Standard Theatre Awards in 2023.
'Marvellous… a quite wonderful new play… full of compassion, funny, witty and utterly compelling… This play is Thorne and Mendes's own love letter to the stage, full of both intellect and passion, clever and profoundly moving' - WhatsOnStage
'Enjoyable and hugely adroit' - Evening Standard
'Witty, deft, and touching… a palpable hit' - Telegraph
'Magical… deeply affecting… not just a heartfelt plea for the power of theatre, but a moving, often very funny, story about two generations teasing and provoking one another' - Independent
'Fascinating… a dual of egos in which not just the play, but the two men's sense of their selves is at stake' - The Stage
