Summary

Welcome to The Rift: a world of magic, intrigue, chaos, and conflict.

Delilah is the leader of the Resistance, a splinter group that took control of their own corner of the Rift after the Conflict. Since its inception, none of the inhabitants know that the Company—the creators of the Rift—are always watching. They've all been deceived. Instead of living in an elite playground for the agents of the Company and their companions, they are part of a large-scale experiment to study its effects on humans.

Unfortunately, both Delilah and the watchers have hit a snag. She has developed a mutation that is changing her life as well as the lives of those she cares about. Her only recourse is the one agent left in their community—a dangerous killer named Taurus.

Contacting him may give her the answers she seeks…or destroy the life she loves.

Once she invites the Cabal and the Company back into their lives, the mutation will be the least of her worries.

Warning: This book may make you laugh out loud in public. Unlucky at love Marie inherits a pile of money and takes her entire eccentric Italian family on vacation, before she plans to split to Hollywood to meet her favorite actress, then must dodge them all when the actress shows up at the same resort. Marie Santora's Italian family is a little crazy, but when Marie inherits her grandmother’s estate, they now have a million more reasons to act nuts. It soon becomes clear that the amount of money Marie needs to live comfortably will be decided by her family—if they don’t get enough of her money, she won’t live comfortably. Marie plans her escape. She’ll give her family a parting gift and then move to Hollywood to chase her dream of writing film scripts. But with millions at stake, it will take more than a free vacation to Jamaica to get the erratic Santora family to toe the line. And the timing couldn’t be worse when her hot pursuit changes from screenplay to foreplay. Now she has to stop her loud-mouthed clan from spilling her secrets as fast as they’re swilling Jamaican rum. Climb aboard this hilarious roller coaster ride where Marie is left wishing “out” was the new “in,” and where every lounge chair is a hot seat when the Santora family ventures this close to the equator. The island of Jamaica just may not be big enough.

Danger brought them together. Safety tore them apart. Can one act of recklessness reunite them forever?

    Jamie
Against protocol and my best intentions, I fell in love with the key witness I was assigned to protect. I know. Rookie move, Jamie.
I guess I’m just a soft touch for beautiful, scared men who hide behind prickly sass and razor-sharp snark. With a little kindness and a lot of patience, I got to know the generous, caring man underneath all those barbs.
But it took everything I had to keep things professional.
In the end, none of that mattered, because I still had to let him go — and it would have been infinitely worse if he knew how I felt. Not that things are much better now, because a year later, with no hope of ever seeing him again, I still can’t forget Ashley Pandy.

Testifying against your best friend’s father for conducting illegal drug trials is one thing. Falling for the handsome deputy marshal assigned to protect you? Utter humiliation.
I was a walking cliche, all heart eyes and swooning. As if a decent, honorable man like Jamie MacDougall would have been interested in someone as damaged as me.
Thankfully, before I could mortify myself further by telling him how I feel, the trial ended, and I entered the WITSEC program with a new identity and a new life — far away from the sexy deputy marshal who still holds my heart.
But justice has some nasty side effects, and now, 12 months later, guilt and loyalty are forcing me back to the last place I should be — Seattle.
And with my past hot on my heels, there’s only one person I trust to keep me safe…

    Everyone deserves a hero.
Owen Meade is desperately in need of a hero. Raised by a mother who made him ashamed of his stutter, his sexual orientation, and his congenitally amputated arm, Owen lives like a hermit in his Tucker Springs apartment. But then hunky veterinarian Nick Reynolds moves in downstairs.
Nick is sexy and confident, and makes Owen comfortable with himself in a way nobody ever has. He also introduces Owen to his firecracker of a little sister, who was born with a similar congenital amputation but never let it stand in her way. When she signs the two of them up for piano lessons—and insists that they play together in a recital—Owen can’t find a way to say no. Especially since it gives him a good excuse to spend more time with Nick.
Owen knows he’s falling hard for his neighbor, but every time he gets close, Nick inexplicably pulls away. Battling his mother’s scorn and Nick’s secrets, Owen soon realizes that instead of waiting for a hero, it’s time to be one—for himself and for Nick.

Gil: I was tired of working the police beat in Northern Cali. Exhausted—my whole body was yearning for a place I hadn't been in years, my old home. When my mama died, I knew I had to come back, and a pay bump and new job as police chief sealed the deal.
I got away from heartbreak. From being so tired. From the constant, never-ending world of crime I'd come to know. In Abingdon, I can relax, see all my old friends from Jackson Academy. Maybe I can even change this place a little, make it better for all the kids like me. The ones who were different, who always needed a place a little bigger and broader than a small mountain town could provide.
I always promised myself I wouldn't come back. But Kendall Vincent—he might just get me to stay for good. When I'm in his arms, I feel complete, whole again, like a man reborn to the world.
Everything seems perfect, right up until the moment that it's not. When two gay kids get hurt bad by a gang of thugs, I realize that Abingdon needs me far more than I thought. And I'm here to protect the town—and the man—that I'm growing to love.
    Contains mature themes.
