Summary

I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to share the lighter side of airport and aviation employees. The vast majority of people I encountered at the airport [from all classes and careers], enjoyed humor. Additionally, I found that the average person can recognize the difference between fact and fiction, truth and lies and more importantly, humor versus sarcasm. As I mentioned earlier, humor has been determined to be a stress reducer, and often, a means of increasing morale.

Remember, I referred to actual passengers and employees in trying to encourage the innocent while protecting the guilty.

Dickens’s first novel follows the comic adventures of a band of men as they journey around nineteenth-century England.Set in the early nineteenth century, The Pickwick Papers follows well-off gentleman Samuel Pickwick, who forms a club with three friends. Their goal is to travel through the English countryside by coach, observing the world beyond London and staying at inns along the way. The reader follows Pickwick and his pals—less-than-skillful sportsman Nathaniel Winkle; self-proclaimed poet Augustus Snodgrass; and obese Tracy Tupman, who fancies himself a ladies’ man—as they stumble into both adventure and trouble. Joined by Pickwick’s valet, a talkative coachman, and another traveler with a knack for tall tales, this merry band will entertain the reader while offering a tour of England in the 1820s, populated by an assortment of colorful characters.

This 1923 novel by the Pulitzer Prize–winning poet and author of Paterson satirizes American colonization, creative ambition, and the novel form itself.   One of the greatest American writers of the twentieth century, William Carlos Williams was an avid experimentalist in prose as well as poetry. Concerned about the state of the American novel, a form he felt was stunted by traditional tropes and genres, he set out to both parody and reject the prevailing clichés of fiction.   The result of this audacious project was The Great American Novel, which tells the story of a Ford car in love with a Mack truck. A hilarious satire of Americanism and a brilliant example of literary invention, Williams’s short novel set a precedent for American postmodern literature and metafiction.

Packed full of cheery motivational quotes, proverbs and mantras, Keep Calm and Carry On is an uplifting gift book meant to give you a boost through troubled times. Discovered on a poster created by the British Ministry of Information for British soldiers before World War II, the slogan still manages to strike a chord in our current difficult times."Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm." --Winston Churchill"Don't judge each day by the harvest you reap, but by the seeds that you plant." --Robert Louis Stevenson"It's a recession when your neighbor loses his job; it's a depression when you lose your own." --Harry S. Truman

    Two great performances, one audio-book!
    I'm Not Okay!
Who, but a wise guy would engineer some of the stunts Davis has pulled and then have the audacity to talk about them? Like the time he shot a screwdriver through the ceiling of his kitchen with an M-80 firecracker. And who else would have an international collection of airline barf bags? Here's some of the best comedy you've ever experienced. And it's all wrapped up in a message of hope that can change your life forever.
    Is It Just Me?
Ken Davis offers some of his funniest material to date during an appearance in the heart of Dairyland. One of America's favorite speakers, Ken joins Wisconsin's famed "cheeseheads" for a brilliant performance that pays tribute to veterans, explores the differences between men and women, and ponders the question: Is It Just Me?

Frederick is freed of his indentures to the ferociously temperate Pirates of Penzance. What will he do with his newfound freedom?
This audiobook is based on the libretto from W. S. Gilbert, of Gilbert and Sullivan fame. It includes all the original material in the libretto, adapted to make the tale a narrative, rather than an operetta.
It’s a rare opportunity to celebrate the sharp wit of Gilbert’s writing, as it is brought to the fore.
