Summary

For readers of Ronald Wright, Rebecca Solnit, and Yuval Noah Harari, comes a compelling inquiry into our relationship with humanity’s latest and greatest calamity

In The Environmentalist’s Dilemma, award-winning journalist Arno Kopecky zeroes in on the core predicament of our times: the planet may be dying, but humanity’s doing better than ever. To acknowledge both sides of this paradox is to enter a realm of difficult decisions: Should we take down the government, or try to change it from the inside? Is it okay to compare climate change to Hitler? Is hope naive or indispensable? How do you tackle collective delusion? Should we still have kids? And can we take them to Disneyland?

Inquisitive and relatable, Kopecky strikes a rare note of optimistic realism as he guides us through the moral minefields of our polarized world. From start to finish, The Environmentalist’s Dilemma returns to the central question: How should we engage with the story of our times?
Available since: 10/19/2021.

The big tech companies are increasingly relying on the database management systems to store and maintaining the massive volume of data generated by our digital lives.
The Relational Database Management System (RDBMS) is extensively used by these tech giants to not only store the large volume of data but as an advanced tool to gain insight from massive volume of data generated by our increasingly digital lives. The Structured Query Language (SQL) is the language of choice define, manipulate, control and query the data within a RDBMS. Companies rely on RDBMS for organization of their customer data as well as to review this valuable data and keep it current and secure.
This book is written to serve as your personal guide so you can efficiently and effectively learn and write SQL statements or queries to retrieve from and update data on relational databases such as MySQL. You will be able to install the free and open MySQL user interface with the instructions provided in this book.
Some of the highlights of this audiobook are:
    · A variety of SQL data types that are a pre-requisite for learning SQL have been explained in an easy to understand language
    · Overview of a wide range of user interfaces available with MySQL servers including MySQL workbench, Sequel Pro, Toad, among others
    · The key concept of SQL Joins is provided in exquisite detail including different SQL JOIN and the SQL Union functions

The ultimate goal of this paper is to control the angular speed, in a model of a DC motor driving an inertial load has the angular speed, as the output and applied voltage, as the input, by varying the applied voltage using different control strategies for comparison purpose. The comparison is made between the proportional controller, integral controller, proportional and integral controller, phase lag compensator, derivative controller, lead integral compensator, lead lag compensator, PID controller and the linear quadratic tracker design based on the optimal control theory. It has been realized that the design based on the linear quadratic tracker will give the best steady state and transient system behavior, mainly because, the other compensator designs are mostly based on trial and error while the linear quadratic tracker design is based on the optimal control theory which can give best dynamic performance for the controlled system.

The name of this book is “Whoops I Married a Bipolar.” I am aware that might offend some people or give the impression that I don’t take mental illness seriously, but I assure you I have never experienced so many levels of pain in my life then I have from witnessing and engaging with this illness. I know how serious it is and that it can ruin marriages, families and even take lives. I say, Whoops, because when we get married we have a set of visions and goals in our head of what that marriage is going to look like. From the thousands of woman I have spoken with, a majority of them did not understand or recognize that their partner had a mental illness and most times, the partner had not been diagnosed in treatment for it when they met. The dreams of your marriage begin to pull away and you wonder, “How did I get here?” Where’s the person I fell in love with? By the time you and your spouse get through enough tragedy to actually get support, you as the partner are up to your eye balls in the fight to maintain some kind of balance and normality in your lives. There has been a lot of “Whoops” moments for me, times when I felt cheated that I didn’t get the marriage I planned for, like it was a mistake.
However, I believe that life is very much on purpose and that we have stories that we are intended to live and to tell. I can say Whoops, and laugh about it now. Whoops, look what I did. I stepped into the most challenging relationship, circumstance and season of my life. There are days when I want to say it was an accident and ask for a re-do, but I know in my heart that my husband and I are no accident. Every pain, tragedy, recovery and celebration is all part of our story… on purpose.
Sometimes it may feel like a Whoops’, but that doesn’t mean you have to quit. You can pick yourself up and restart, Bipolar is famous for that, so take a page from their book and learn to get over the tough cycles and keep living your life.

Imagine a feline with the spirit of a lion, the sneakiness of a puma, the terrifying walk of a black bear, and the strong arms of a gorilla. Sounds cool? Now add some huge dagger-like fangs… even cooler, right? This amazing creature was best known as the saber-toothed tiger; an animal so fearless, he could beat beasts even twice their size!
As cool as he sounds, this Ice Age feline earned quite a villainous reputation; you can even see them be the bad guys in movies! Ever watched the movie Ice Age? All saber-toothed tigers, except Diego, seemed to be dangerous; or do you remember Wolverine’s enemy, Victor Creed, “Sabertooth”? Yes, he was scary.
Beyond his reputation, the saber-toothed tiger is an Ice Age celebrity, and so is the woolly mammoth. In September 2012, on a chilly morning, a Russian kid named Yevgeny Zhenya and his dogs were walking to school, when an awful smell made them stop. The 11-year-old wanted to find out what smelled so bad, and with the help of his furry friends, he went to explore the land. They stumbled upon a giant pair of heels that were covered in an immense pile of snow! What could such a giant thing be?
The creature he found turned out to be a 16-year-old mammoth whose body had remained whole for over 30,000 years! Since 1901 no one had made such an important find, making this discovery quite special; they even named the creature after the little boy who found him!
After dinosaurs, few vanished animals are as famous as the woolly mammoths, or in 18th-century scientist George Cuvier’s words, some kind of extinct elephant. Raise your hand and keep reading if you are ready to learn more about the story, fossils, facts, and pictures of these amazing animals!
