Summary

A love story just like thousands of others. A life that does not go hand in hand with the diaries or abides by human law. It is an unending miracle in a world that does not seek its God. It is an ode to the woman. The very reason life puts up with pain.

Life chose them both. It offered the moments. An alternation that drains the protagonists’ energies. Those people, the mortal machines fighting against the enemy time. People immersed in love. They struggle to live the time, they hold on to it. In a relationship that they did not ask for. A relationship that developed into a cruel test of their limits in each of their encounters. A love inscribed on its letters.

"Living the passion that I had never experienced before, I carry your thought at every single one of my moments. Together everywhere, your are the time on which every one of my days unfolds. At a time that hope fades and joy is more precious than gold itself, I, a runaway convict, with my soul revived by my ardour to exist with you, I live my holy moment, bound to scribbling a story that is threatened by human censorship".

Travellers of life. Its pilgrims. They are runaways from time. In their own era, they build their nest, they embrace and fill a chest with memories. Emanating a scent that transcends time.

Captured in a failed invasion attempt, is a young military officer. Is he interrogated for his knowledge of communication codes, battlefield tactics and military secrets? No, in this setting, a strange tropical monarchy, he is subjected instead to the whim of the Princess and her Dominant cohorts. Examined, selected and most humiliatingly restrained naked by female jailers, the Captain endures an unusual barrage of psychological and physical tests in which he is deprived of all control and coerced into revealing the deepest and most lascivious events of his adolescence. The results? He is deemed acceptable to serve. And the Princess anoints him as a birthday present for her daughter, finally coming of age and deemed to be ready for a plaything of her very own. First, however, certain alterations need to be performed to ensure complete subjugation. And of course the daughter, as an aspiring artist, has an agenda of her own in creating a portrayal of an ancient tradition... the taming of the symbolically virile male. But the Captain's past, serving as beast of burden for the strict daughter of a friend, imbues him with the psychological attributes needed to serve. Chris Bellows has once again woven a tale of plot, memorable characters, unsurpassed depravity and ironic ending for the aficionado of D/s literature. This story line entails intense body modification and should be read only by the most enthusiastic readers of D/s erotica.

These adventures of a Victorian heroine are considered by some to still be shocking as Eveline explores her sexuality in a series of erotic encounters from a very young age. She has a veneer of propriety which heightens her casual sexual behaviour and provides a revealing insight into our perceptions of Victorian society. Talented actress Sally Farmiloe captures this dichotomy beautifully.

Two young people, the epitome of young masculine and feminine beauty, fall in love at first sight, but their union is forbidden by the tyranny of their guardians and of geography itself, for they live on opposite sides of the Hellespont. To enjoy one night of love, Leander dares to swim this formidable strait, unluckily meeting the god Neptune along the way. Unaware of the resentment he has aroused by rejecting the advances of this old queen of the sea, the lad gains the shore and, once past the shock of appearing naked on his lover's doorstep, finds his way into her bed. There the young couple, although ignorant of the facts of life (Hero is a "nun" in the temple of Venus!), discover "all that elder lovers know" by (awkward) trial and (hilarious) error. The unfinished poem ends with one lover having fallen out of bed, the long return journey across the Hellespont still to come and an angry Neptune lying in wait. Although George Chapman continued the poem after Marlowe's death, this reading is of Marlowe's original only. (Summary by Thomas Copeland)
