Summary

Can you hear it?
It’s the deafening sound of – loneliness. So many families seem fractured, lacking the strong bonds of affection and friendship that should naturally exist!
Let’s face it – most everyone needs a friend, right? In these times that we currently live in, our world is most troubled and has distorted the true meaning of friendship. In this age of Social Media, friendship has been reduced to a couple of keystrokes that feature Likes, Loves and Pin-Its.  But, at the first sign of a disagreement what happens? Unlike, Un-follow, and the list goes on. This in itself can be most discouraging at times. But, that’s no reason to give up searching for true, genuine and lasting friendships.
We should never settle for a lifetime of solitude. Having friends or close confidants is necessary and important for our physical and mental health, happiness and overall well-being. But what does friendship mean to you personally? Is it a state of convenience? Is it a state of status and popularity?  Everyone has to define what it means to them personally. In the pursuit of real and lasting friendships, work is involved to search out, secure and maintain real friends that we would like to keep throughout our lives. Are you up for the task?
Within the pages of this ebook publication, I have included 25 basic but essential steps that we all should be practicing every day in our family life and friendships in general. These 25 principles and social skillsets are included in checklist format (for easy printing) so that you can view them on a daily basis.
After reading Forever Friends: Making Lasting Friendships Without Social Media, it is my hope that you are able to put these concepts into practice, starting today, in your search for genuine and real friends.
May you find joy, happiness and success always!

Wish You Happy Forever - What...

Wish You Happy Forever chronicles Half the Sky founder Jenny Bowen's personal and professional journey to transform Chinese orphanages—and the lives of the neglected girls who live in them—from a state of quiet despair to one of vibrant promise.
After reading an article about the thousands of baby girls languishing in Chinese orphanages, Bowen and her husband adopted a little girl from China and brought her home to Los Angeles, not out of a need to build a family but rather a commitment to save one child. A year later, as she watched her new daughter play in the grass with her friends, thriving in an environment where she knew she was loved, Bowen was overcome with a desire to help the children that she could not bring home. That very day she created Half the Sky Foundation, an organization conceived to bring love into the life of every orphan in China and one that has actually managed to fulfill its promise.
In Wish You Happy Forever, a fish out of water tale like no other, Bowen relates her struggle to bring the concept of "child nurture and responsive care" to bemused Chinese bureaucrats and how she's actually succeeding. Five years after Half the Sky's first orphanage program opened, government officials began to mention child welfare and nurturing care in public speeches. And, in 2011, at China's Great Hall of the People, Half the Sky and its government partners celebrated the launch of The Rainbow Program, a groundbreaking initiative to change the face of orphan care by training every child welfare worker in the country. Thanks to Bowen's relentless perseverance through heartbreak and a dose of humor, Half the Sky's goal to bring love the lives of forgotten children comes ever closer.

THE BRILLIANT AND HUGELY INFLUENTIAL BOOK BY THE WINNER OF THE 2017 ROYAL SOCIETY INSIGHT INVESTMENT SCIENCE BOOKS PRIZE

    ‘Fun, droll yet deeply serious.’
    New Scientist
‘A brilliant feminist critic of the
neurosciences … Read her, enjoy and learn.’
    Hilary Rose, THES
    ‘A witty and meticulously researched
exposé of the sloppy studies that pass for scientific
evidence in so many of today’s bestselling books
    on sex differences.’
    Carol Tavris, TLS

Gender inequalities are increasingly defended by citing hard-wired differences between the male and
female brain. That’s why, we’re told, there are so few
women in science, so few men in the laundry room –
different brains are just suited to different things.

With sparkling wit and humour, Cordelia Fine attacks
this ‘neurosexism’, revealing the mind’s remarkable
plasticity, the substantial influence of culture on identity,
and the malleability of what we consider to be
    ‘hardwired’ difference.

    This modern classic shows
the surprising extent to which boys and girls, men and
women are made – not born.

Now that I’m a mom, I know the most painful part isn’t getting something giant through your hooha. It’s having a real live child.
If you are the kind of mom who shapes your kiddo’s organic quinoa into reproductions of the Mona Lisa, do not read this book. If you stayed up past midnight to create posters for your PTO presidential campaign, do not read this book. If you look down your nose at parents who have Domino’s pizza on speed dial, do not read this book.
But if you are the kind of parent who accidentally goes ballistic on your rugrats every morning because they won’t put their shoes on and then you feel super guilty about it all day so you take them to McDonald’s for a special treat but really it’s because you opened up your freezer and panicked because you forgot to buy more frozen pizzas, then absolutely read this book.
I Want My Epidural Back is a celebration of mediocre parents and how awesome they are and how their kids love them just as much as children with perfect parents. Karen Alpert’s honest but hilarious observations, stories, quips and pictures will have you nodding your head and peeing in your pants. Or on the toilet if you’re smart and read it there.

  • The Vision of W B Yeats The 28 Phases Of The Moon And The Relationships Among Them - cover

The Vision of W B Yeats The 28...

The book is a metaphysical jigsaw puzzle, based on Yeats’ Vision and filled in with the clues Yeats left in virtually all his work. This system brings the cycle the Phases of the Moon, out of general theory into the specific and the particular. This book describes each of the twenty-eight phases of the moon--the motivation of the phase, its goal, and how the phase is lived. It also discusses tactics often used to avoid the phase's required work and the repercussions these tactics bring with them.
Each phase of the moon, each cycle, is unique, never before done, never to be replicated. Only you can judge yourself, and the information contained in Yeats' system actually offers the criteria by which to do so.
